"Decent "Netbook" " or whatever they are called these days?
Anybody recommend a decent one?
For traveling mostly and such. Thx -J.D.L |
Asus EEPC Seashell
For 300 buck you can't beat it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-681-_-Product |
Those things are for shit. Can a laptop with some real hardware for not much more money. It isn't much harder to travel with a 15 inch laptop.
|
I have a macbook, but I bring my netbook everywhere I go. Easier to carry when it's in a sleeve as opposed to a full laptop in a bag. Plus if it's lost or stolen, you're only out 300 bucks instead of 1200 or more.
I have an Asus 1005HA, and I love it. Runs about 300 bucks, 8 hour battery life. Similar to the one posted above but I've never used that model. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-648-_-Product |
I´m waiting to see the rolltop... for now Im still with my sony vaio...
|
I have an MSI Wind running Mac OS X 10.6.2 and its pretty damn stable and cheap as hell to boot.
|
i recommend Asus Eee PC 1201n... highly recommend... it is under $500...
And if you have over $1000... Mac Book Air... or some 13' Mac Book... |
ive owned a few netbooks.
this is my next one. i tested it at the store and it beats them all. it'll even beat out an ipad since it is a laptop OR a tablet. ipad is only a (low res, low power) tablet. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/...on-lenovo-s10/ http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/ga...vieled_036.jpg price is around $550 |
Just bought a sony viao anf love it!
14" screen |

I'm happy with MSI Wind so far, but going to look for netbook with bigger screen and resolution soon :)
|
Look at resolution. Those 1024x600 are crap and 1366x768 is too small a height for me.
I got a HP dv1110 with a 12.1" 1280x800 monitor. Not tiny but still pretty small - and a great screen with a usable resolution. |
That little Lenovo is hot. I've got a Dell Mini 10v now, upgraded from the 9. It runs OSX (simple to install) and fits in the diaper bag when we leave the house. It's always with us.
|
i have a dell mini 10v, like it, dont use it that much only when i travel
|
get the ipad 3g
|
Netbook? are you a fucking faggot? My partner had one and the chicks we're like "awwww it's so cute.... a MINI computer"
WUT BITCH? MINI? take a look in my pantssssss ===> MAD VIEWS |

asus will be you best choice, if you need bigger monitor then 10" check out the ASUS UL30 a bit expensive but very light, big screen (13") and good hardware unlike netbooks

I got my mom a dell mini 9 and she loves it. I ended up getting her a wireless mouse and keyboard for when she has it set up at home it makes typing a lot easier since its a slightly condensed keyboard.
oh it was $150 brand new in box from craigslist |
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is what I got for Christmas. One reason I love it is that the keyboard is still 'normal' sized. Can't go wrong with the price and it works perfect for traveling.
|
I am on my Gateway LT2022u netbook and have had it since dec with no issues. i left xp pro installed and it runs photoshop perfectly and can have almost as much stuff open as my desk monster and i only $229
|
Asus eee pc 1005.

I really like the 1005ha, I checked out a couple and that's what I went with. |
I get crazy battery life on my Acer Aspire One. It's not very powerful but it's perfect for browsing and emails.

have a macbook pro and asus. the asus for size and weight is cool but too small to type for the long run. dell's usually are pretty nice though

edit: Yeah, different model. I didn't have to take it apart for the RAM upgrade. There's a little door that opens up for it. |
