Just saw this...seems the sex.com domain adventure continues......

The Sex.com foreclosure auction that had been scheduled for Thursday (March 18) has been cancelled. The move came after creditors of current Sex.com owner Escom, LLC filed an involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition against Escom today in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California (San Fernando Valley Division).

A press release says the petitioners took this action to protect their interests and to maximize value for all other creditors and equity holders. The filing will stay the public auction foreclosure proceedings which petitioners believe would have diminished the value of Escom's assets. With the fate of Sex.com now in court, it will likely be some time before the domain's future is determined.

They gotta make a movie about the entire history of that domain

I heard a few times that the idea was under consideration but never saw anything become of it although l did see a 1 hr sort of docu-movie.

It seems someone wrote a book about the sex.com domain saga Sex.com/Book ....I think Kevin Blatt should shuffle some contacts and make the movie happen (if he hasnt tried already) :thumbsup

Does this domain still have the same value? I can see Sex.com being the IT domain for type-in traffic back in the 90's and early 2k, but what about today?

My favorite scene in this movie would have to be the owners going through the Sex.com house trashing it, pulling up carpets, slashing pipes, etc before Gary moved in.

I have a the documentary called "The Sex.com Story" from 1994 - 2003 that features Gary Kremen ... and KB and myself as "color commentators" - it's aired in the UK a ton of times and was one of the top rated shows for many years there.

I'll see if I can find it on one of my hard drives and post it. It's a great story!

It's because of KB that I moved down to San Diego and lived @ the Sex.com Estate for 6 months, which Gary got back when he won the case and got the domain back!

We had some sick/great times ... it was a lot of fun to say the least :winkwink:
