Thanks for setting this up, Jenni.

I've tried to donate, but from what it looks like they don't accept ePassporte creditcards (tried virtual & electron) - does Julia have access to an epassporte account we can donate to as an alternative?

Thanx,
Steve

TurboAngel 03-20-2010 01:42 PM

Thanks for the info!

Thank you Steve, I'll see if Julia can find anything. I think she's a bit overwhelmed right now since David handled everything pertaining to payments online. I'll update you if she locates anything.

If you want to reach out to her directly (and this goes for anyone wanting to send her condolences) you can e-mail her at redwormgirl at g mail dot com.

Don't be like that... he might have left a burden of medical bills.

I can only imagine how much just each visit to the hospital was, I had gone into the emergency room in December with heart palpitations (I have a prolapsed mitro valve) and it cost me $2k just for them to pretty much just observe me for 2 hours until my heartbeat regulated. ASM went in often for much more complicated procedures, and regardless if he had health insurance, (we know that doesn't mean a whole lot in this country) I'm sure she has a lot of bills to sort through.

I started this fund partially to help her with costs, but to also show her that we are here as a community to help her in her time of need.

IllTestYourGirls 03-20-2010 05:01 PM

Are you going to start a sig auction? If so throw mine into the mix.

He doesn't need anything now.

However, lots of people on here liked him, myself included. When people pass, we as humans often feel helpless and want to do something. Since there is nothing we can do, we send flowers, take food, make a donation, etc. It's our way of paying tribute and letting loved ones know that we share in their grieving.

If you don't want to contribute, then don't.

As to coming off like a baller, I guess that is a matter of interpretation, but I never took a single post of his like that.

:2 cents:

never saw him try to suggest he was a baller, only that he had been at this a long time - i assumed since he was intelligent and a hard worker when his health permitted that he supported himself.

DaddyHalbucks 03-20-2010 10:34 PM

Wasn't he the recipient of ALOT of public assistance already?

Isn't his wife left with his online business?

Please correct me if I am wrong about these things.

Julia is probably one of the most real, sincere, and humblest person I've ever known, and I loved seeing how happy they made each other. She's been through a lot with his illness and there is no reason why she has to face this alone.

She really loved David and never let his special needs get in the way of enjoying every moment she had with him. I am inspired by her strength and ability to go with the flow of things so easily. Life is one thing when the one you love and are married to is dealing with a major illness, but a whole new ballgame when that someone is also in a wheelchair.

I also know what it feels like to love of your life before turning 30 and suddenly feel so alone, even when you're surrounded by people. One of the worst feelings in the world.

From my conversations with him, I got the impression that he was not receiving much, if any, public assistance.

Here's the thing about public assistance... you make any money, you get none or very little, if any... regardless of your health conditions. David made money, I doubt he received much assistance.

What if he was? What if she does have the business? Are people not allowed to rally together to help out?

Giving is not mandatory. It may be a stretch for you to believe this based on posts I've seen from you in the past, but some people have a heart and like to help their fellow man/woman during difficult times.

Don't worry, nobody expects you to give up your money that was earned by pushing bogus products like acai berry and penis pills.

From reading and talking to him, I was also under the impression that he was on his own.

I was also under the impression that he was either paying a lot or all of his medical expenses out of pocket. I'd imagine that if he was drawing public benefits, one of the first thing's he would have opted for was some type of government backed medical coverage.

Not everyone can afford to give away free traffic. I thought he owned that program or something.

Bump for this. Nice work in setting up the fund, Jenni. :) Judging by some of the comments, there is no shortage of classless fucks and haters around here and it's a 'breath of fresh air' that someone would consider doing something NICE for the family after someone passes. I wish that there were more like you around ... it gives me confidence that maybe I won't be forgotten if I drop dead tomorrow of a heart attack or otherwise.

RIP ASM.

So, very true.

In those times, sometimes it is just nice to be reminded that people do care. The world feels pretty cold where she is right now.

Wow gal, that's heavy. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Thanks for helping:thumbsup

For the record, David was successful at what he did, but he was also ill for a long time and had to undergo expensive surgeries and even constant medical treatments, just to stay alive. He helped many folks in this Industry, worked long hours, and never bitched about his condition. Honestly, I don't know if I could have been as gracious as he was, I would probably complain all the time if I was confined to a wheelchair and dealing with the pain of cancer.

I chose a random number for the donation site, I don't think that amount is even a drop in the bucket compared to what Julia is faced with expenses wise. Thank you to everyone who has donated, and Persian Kitty for suggesting the site. A check will be issued directly to Julia after the drive ends on April 30 and she doesn't know anything about it (she's had limited access to the internet right now and isn't one to be online normally).
