Common Sense Prevails....health care reform
Its amazing to see the right wing fail this badly. The people have spoken. Americans finally get what the rest of the free world takes for granted. Obama has accomplished more in a year than GW Bush did in eight. Wow....
|
Congratulations!
|
Holy shit is there anyone dumber than weekly as of that post? What people are you talking about, because he majority of americans oppose obacare and "people" don't vote on passage. Furthermore, nobody can fail as bad as obama and the democrats have thus. I know i call people stupid all the time but your retarded, ignorant post is only rivaled by thedoc. I feel awful for you.
|
Oh btw, nothing has been passed and obama has failed in one year nearly as much as bush did in 8. Please continue proving you know nothing about anything. :)
|
It's funny how conservatives claim to be compassionate, yet they don't want all Americans to have healthcare coverage. They go to church on Sunday and on Monday have no problem with someone dying because they can't afford medical treatment.

You have got to feel for weekly. This moron has no idea what's going on.

As a Canadian, what we see from our point of view is the incredible lack of health care, and the outright slaps in the face Americans get from the Health Insurance companies. To us, the health care bill is extremely important and long overdue for our American friends.
On Obama we see a very smart guy who inherited 8 years worth of garbage thanks to George W Bush. He seems to be trying very hard to fix all of these problems and should be commended on it. The people who should be ashamed of themselves are the Republicans and especially Fox News who go way out of their way to attempt to discredit Obama on everything, edit video of news events to appear differently then they actually did, and flat-out lie again and again to anyone who will listen. If the Grand Old Party really cares about America they would try to help instead of block the Dem's efforts every which way they can. |
I love the use of "we" here as if you represent the majority of canadians. I know quite a few who have a completely opposite opinion and believe obama is a black bush dooming our economy. But nice to see your bias.

the real shock is how hard it was to get democrats to vote for reform. they couldnt even get a public option through with their big majority. there is no reason to believe this bill will contain cost. & there will be no appetite for more reform when costs keep rocketing. |

lets not forget the new 16,000 jobs at the IRS the healthcare bill needs

Pelosi nailed it tonight. The voice of the people.

Cool. So now everybody is forced to buy a product from insurance companies. They just gained 30 million new customers by force.
Didn't I read somewhere that none of the "benefits" of this bill become active for four years? But the taxes kick in immediately? I already pay almost a grand a month for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for me, my wife, and 2 kids. And that's with a $3,000 deductible. I sure hope that I'm wrong about this all being a big money grab by the insurance companies, but I don't see where anything in this is going to lower the cost of going to the doctor or buying prescription drugs or a hospital visit. :( |

Btw wow, 219-212 that was closer than I or anybody thought. Let the lawsuits and stalling begin! I think we'll all be long gone by the time this actually goes into effect.
|
Wow. Just saw a Republican house member on the news. He said that one of the many things that hasn't been talked about is that the bill calls for the hiring of 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce the new law that everybody has to buy health insurance. Damn.
Oh well...I wish them good luck with the bums out here on the corner on the strip in Vegas. And I wish them good luck in getting people who have no jobs and are getting their homes foreclosed on. Can't wait to see how they are going to force people who barely have their heads above water to now add the extra expense of expensive health insurance. |

i just hope that people will start to wake up and start voting congress out of office..
i would rather have a house and senate filled with new blood that has no idea how anything works then the corrupt old fucks we have in there now.. both sides just sit back and argue just for the sake of arguing... meanwhile both sides of the aisle just keep lining their pockets... , |

Don't you get it? You guys lose.... Deal with it and enjoy the benefits of a first world health care system.

Worst case scenario is the fucking crazy Christian Right get their guys in power. Fuck. Stupid Democrats. Why can't this country have a serious Libertarian party? One that would be fiscally conservative, follow the constitution, and stay the fuck out of people's personal lives? To me that would be perfect. It's like...if I vote Republican my pocketbook is full. But they want to tell me what I can read, listen to, film, watch....all in the name of their fucking superstitious religion fairy tales. And if they had the opportunity they would love to shut us down. But if I vote Democratic...I don't have to worry about getting shut down. Society is allowed to be more progressive and liberal. BUT, they just can't seem to resist taking over everything and taxing us to the ground. It's lose/lose. :( |

Oh yeah, Robbie...what you don't get is that if you don't pay the government, you are gonna pay a whole lot more to your insurance company that may or may not cut you off if you need it. That is when it becomes important.

My point was...how are those 16,000 IRS agents gonna force a homeless bum to buy health insurance? And how are families where the mom and dad don't have jobs and they are struggling to feed their kids...suddenly supposed to have money for fucking health insurance???? This is NOT a Single Pay system (which I agree with). And this is NOT health care reform to stop the price gouging of the American citizen. Nope, this is a big fat money grab to the insurance companies. Think about it. 30 million new customers at just $100 a month. Do the math. |

Congrats! One one hand I like that we have socialised medicine. I think it is great for society as a whole. Trust me I dont know anybody in this country who lost their house or has medical bills having them stressed out.
On the other hand. Last night I bought a 12 pack of Coronas from the Government liquor store for $25 and a pack of smokes for $10 and just filled up my gas tank at $4.50 /gallon. Wecome to the nickel and dime! |

Weekly, the #1 reason for this fucked up economy is monetary and fiscal mismanagement for a better part of 30+ years, NOT Iraq. Iraq isn't even on the radar at this point. Obama has done more to? ROFL. Yea, Obama goes down in history as doing in 1 year what Bush did in 8. Gotta love how incredibly stupid and delusional you are weekly.:thumbsup |
Edit: Yes everybody, you read it correctly. Weekly and his stupidity/bias, has just blamed the entire economic debacle on the War in Iraq.. ROFLROFLROFL

Everybody, Dems and Republicans voted for the war. They knew what they were getting into, no sense crying about it now. It's also possible that if Obama wasn't president, he wouldn't increase or debts and deficits more in 1 year, than Bush did in 8. Then again, considering our national debt, the Iraq War was pennies. |
