E.T.A. on the end of the Recession?
I was looking at Google's unemployment data and it seems that most states have higer unemployment now than ever before. Please see http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=... ployment+rate
My question is in your opinions, 1. how long will this last? 2. have we seen the worst yet? IMHO this will last until late 2011 and we have NOT hit bottom yet |
most honest economists give it a decade or so ie: japan's lost decade.
good news we are down two years already. |
Retail sales were up in Jan and Feb, I think its already turning around. Housing in Vegas is getting better, there are good signs at least.
|
Ignore mainstream economists because they're morons. This depression will end when our economy collapses and we start again with a new model. Most likely that'll happen when the Chinese sell off all our securities and cause hyperinflation.
|
@ getnaughty - true and I hope so, but even looking at Nevada, you all are around 14 % unemployment, which is crazy. But hopefully housing i LV continues to get stronger
@agent488 - really? a decade. damn. |

@ Demon, give me a timeframe in your opinion, that this will happen?
Do you think this year will be worse than 2009? Looking at the latest unemployment figures, 2010 isn't off to a stelar start |

Unemployment lol, it's only going to increase. People aren't hiring. The only jobs are coming in the form of government expansion in Washington, which is already a bad sign. Those aren't even real jobs, they're temporary jobs created by a temporary health bill and temporary stimulus programs. |

i hope this thread was started for entertainment purposes.
it's beyond silly to get your economic outlook/forecast from a poster at gfy named *the demon* especially when he considers his view more intelligent than any & every mainstream economist. ftr, i've got no issue with they guy, the sheer tenacity of his postings is humorous in itself and contributes to the overall entertainment value of gfy. |

Edit: Btw, before posting stupidity as always, you should actually read posts for facts. I know you're not smart enough to be objective but please try so you don't get ridiculed. |

every depression, recession, etc. has ALWAYS had a recovery, regardless of the circumstances. my advice to anyone and everyone who is able bodied and can work is to contribute to a recovery by hard work/entrepreneurial mindset. many great thinkers and successful people think (and prove) the hard times are the best times for opportunity, not for going around saying the sky is falling. the doomsday guys are always the ones left behind when the sky clears. |

There are definitely a handful of people here that I respect because they're both intelligent and objective. The rest will post just to see their own text. |

[/quote] This is definitely the typical ignorant, liberal logic. "Because we've always rebounded, we will do so again!!" There's a difference between being optimistic and being completely naive, thinking that the recessions of the past rival this current recession/depression. Quote:

they spend their days trying to understand the issues as opposed to arguing with *morons* on an adult message board about economics. it's clear to most everyone except the demon. |

anyhoo, that's my view. could be wrong, but in the meantime, i will continue to work hard, create new business from the opportunities presented to me and not stand on the sidelines with my arms crossed waiting for the world to collapse while calling people names on gfy.

You see digital, what I did was introduce a post based on facts and logic. You won't see anyone contradict it. You'll see leftist propaganda involving "lol ur stupid" and "u provided no facts", but none of these turds will back it up. Arguing with the left is easier than anything I've ever done.

The Demon is mostly right, and I would add that what we are seeing is a "managed demolition" of the American economy. Don't let the corporate media tell you that we are in a recession, or "double dip recession," we are clearly in/moving towards THE GREATEST DEPRESSION. It's only just begun. The globalist banking elite are executing on a plan devised many years ago to collapse the US economy and impoverish the US middle class. They are going for broke now, and will NOT let up until the economy is in absolute ruins, paving the way to a one world currency/government. I hope people wake up to this reality sooner rather than later.

I see no end in sight to economic problems. there are still shoes left to drop in option ARM mortgages, commercial real estate, the stock market itself, & the biggest fish of all, the federal government.

There is no "new model" to replace this one.
There is nothing on the horizon. And no leadership suggesting anything that can work. We are well and truly fucked. And it's all our fault. We've had thirty years of warnings. |
