E.T.A. on the end of the Recession?

I was looking at Google's unemployment data and it seems that most states have higer unemployment now than ever before. Please see http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=... ployment+rate

My question is in your opinions,
1. how long will this last?
2. have we seen the worst yet?

IMHO this will last until late 2011 and we have NOT hit bottom yet

Agent 488 03-23-2010 10:59 AM

most honest economists give it a decade or so ie: japan's lost decade.

good news we are down two years already.

NaughtyRob 03-23-2010 11:02 AM

Retail sales were up in Jan and Feb, I think its already turning around. Housing in Vegas is getting better, there are good signs at least.

The Demon 03-23-2010 11:04 AM

Ignore mainstream economists because they're morons. This depression will end when our economy collapses and we start again with a new model. Most likely that'll happen when the Chinese sell off all our securities and cause hyperinflation.

digitaldivas 03-23-2010 11:06 AM

@ getnaughty - true and I hope so, but even looking at Nevada, you all are around 14 % unemployment, which is crazy. But hopefully housing i LV continues to get stronger

@agent488 - really? a decade. damn.

yes, i have heard about the hyperinflation theory, as well as people saying that housing will take another hit this year, as well as more people defaulting on they're credit cards...

It's not a theory, I'm telling you facts. It's a fact that our debt is unsustainable. It's a fact that the Obama administration has spent more than any other administration in 1 year. It's a fact Bernanke is screwing us with the incredibly low interest rates. It's a fact that the dollar is slowly going to shit and people should throw money into precious metals. Finally, it's a fact that China well sell our debt back to us once they realize we have no hope in paying them back.

digitaldivas 03-23-2010 11:11 AM

@ Demon, give me a timeframe in your opinion, that this will happen?
Do you think this year will be worse than 2009? Looking at the latest unemployment figures, 2010 isn't off to a stelar start

Yea, it will definitely be worse. I thought the economy would collapse this year but the FED and the Obama Administration have done everything to spin reality and keep the stock market up. We haven't even begun to hit rock bottom in the subprime market. No new jobs are being created and the deficit spending continues, while consumer spending isn't keeping up at all, it's not even close. I'd say 2011 the way the FED keeps bullshitting people. Maybe 2012, but I think definitely 2011 because people are slowly starting to understand that the FED is full of shit. I can't tell who's dumber; Krugman, Bernanke, or Greenspan. They're all morons of a different kind..

Unemployment lol, it's only going to increase. People aren't hiring. The only jobs are coming in the form of government expansion in Washington, which is already a bad sign. Those aren't even real jobs, they're temporary jobs created by a temporary health bill and temporary stimulus programs.

i hope this thread was started for entertainment purposes.

it's beyond silly to get your economic outlook/forecast from a poster at gfy named *the demon* especially when he considers his view more intelligent than any & every mainstream economist.

ftr, i've got no issue with they guy, the sheer tenacity of his postings is humorous in itself and contributes to the overall entertainment value of gfy.

I can say the same thing about you dynamo, but I've proven intelligence, you've proven a lack of, so who is more humorous(I hope that didn't confuse you):)

Edit: Btw, before posting stupidity as always, you should actually read posts for facts. I know you're not smart enough to be objective but please try so you don't get ridiculed.

Oh no, just woke up, smoking up and wasting time before I get into my sites today. Dyna Mo, whats your take on this then, if I may ask.

He doesn't have one, he's a moron. You'll notice that the only people on this forum that insult me happen to be ones that are ridiculed by other, more intelligent people on this forum because they're stupid human beings, even by GFY standards. They don't have any insights, facts, common sense, or logic. They'll just respond to a post with a line from one of their scripts, and leave it at that. They're definitely the GFY clowns, it's hilarious.

Aww, there are some good people on this board though, Demon. Dyna Mo has never been mean to me. It's always a war when you talk politics though, don't take it personal, man :)

i think the next several years are going to be very difficult, simply due to the lack of job creation and unemployment. but it is human nature to rebound, be resilient and evolve. we have done that after every single huge economic issue that we have been confronted with over the entire history of mankind.

every depression, recession, etc. has ALWAYS had a recovery, regardless of the circumstances. my advice to anyone and everyone who is able bodied and can work is to contribute to a recovery by hard work/entrepreneurial mindset.

many great thinkers and successful people think (and prove) the hard times are the best times for opportunity, not for going around saying the sky is falling. the doomsday guys are always the ones left behind when the sky clears.

You'll find that 99% of the people on this forum have the reasoning skills of a 5th grader. They lack any objectivity whatsoever, and they sound completely retarded when they argue. Look at my quote for proof. That's why they're in this business to begin with(not a knock on porn), because they can't do anything else.

There are definitely a handful of people here that I respect because they're both intelligent and objective. The rest will post just to see their own text.

This is definitely the typical ignorant, liberal market.

This is definitely the typical ignorant, liberal logic. "Because we've always rebounded, we will do so again!!" There's a difference between being optimistic and being completely naive, thinking that the recessions of the past rival this current recession/depression.

Yet the doomsday guys are the ones that make the majority of people including mainstream economists, look retarded. Peter Schiff was laughed at in 2004-2006 when he predicted the subprime mortgage crisis as well as the financial crisis. Now he's laughing at everybody else. Try to look at things from a realistic perspective, not one that includes, "Oh we'll step it up when the times get rough."

the only person here i've ever been mean/rude to is sticky green. i've never been mean/rude to the demon, i simply pointed out that it's beyond silly for him to consider his view superior to those with a more sophisticated understanding of the world around them.

they spend their days trying to understand the issues as opposed to arguing with *morons* on an adult message board about economics. it's clear to most everyone except the demon.

More sophisticated views? Now I know you're trying to be funny. You see, I didn't invent my "views", I adopted them from economists who are smarter than the "majority". You're hilarious dude.

Yea, as you can see dynamo falls into that 99%. He doesn't really have legitimate arguments or even opinions. His text is just hilarious to read.

dyna mo 03-23-2010 11:42 AM

anyhoo, that's my view. could be wrong, but in the meantime, i will continue to work hard, create new business from the opportunities presented to me and not stand on the sidelines with my arms crossed waiting for the world to collapse while calling people names on gfy.

You see digital, what I did was introduce a post based on facts and logic. You won't see anyone contradict it. You'll see leftist propaganda involving "lol ur stupid" and "u provided no facts", but none of these turds will back it up. Arguing with the left is easier than anything I've ever done.

Ron Paul and Peter Schiff both follow the same school of economics, and I've read most of their books. Definitely the two smartest economists in America. This country would be turned around if they were running the FED...

Dcat 03-23-2010 12:06 PM

The Demon is mostly right, and I would add that what we are seeing is a "managed demolition" of the American economy. Don't let the corporate media tell you that we are in a recession, or "double dip recession," we are clearly in/moving towards THE GREATEST DEPRESSION. It's only just begun. The globalist banking elite are executing on a plan devised many years ago to collapse the US economy and impoverish the US middle class. They are going for broke now, and will NOT let up until the economy is in absolute ruins, paving the way to a one world currency/government. I hope people wake up to this reality sooner rather than later.

I see no end in sight to economic problems. there are still shoes left to drop in option ARM mortgages, commercial real estate, the stock market itself, & the biggest fish of all, the federal government.

There is no end in sight. We'll either default on our debt or treasury securities will be coming back to us. Either way we're fucked until we start using something other than Keynesian economics. I'm not sure why the Austrian School/supply side economics isn't used in America. Shows you the educational level of American economists.

There is no "new model" to replace this one.

There is nothing on the horizon. And no leadership suggesting anything that can work.

We are well and truly fucked.

And it's all our fault. We've had thirty years of warnings.
