Where will porn be in the next 5-yrs?

Will there still be money in porn 5yrs from now? Where will the industry be 5-yrs from now? Cuz in todays time this is what separates the men from the boys... I'm usually good at foreseeing things but this tube stuff is crazy...

Ace of Spades 03-23-2010 02:49 PM

It will still be here, just the model how to make money it will be different.

How u think we'll be able to make money in 2015?

BestXXXPorn 03-23-2010 03:01 PM

Subscriptions to pay sites opened up to new delivery mechanisms (read streaming directly to your TV)...

More paid advertising in addition to affiliate programs...

Lots of smaller porn sites gone, bigger players growing stronger. Companies that understand branding will succeed greater than their competitors.

That's all I've got off the top of my head :P

billywatson 03-23-2010 03:32 PM

Hot chicks doing naughty things.

As far as how it's delivered and paid for is wide open.

Agent 488 03-23-2010 03:33 PM

in yer bum.

IllTestYourGirls 03-23-2010 03:35 PM

Same shit, different way to deliver it.

SomeCreep 03-23-2010 03:59 PM

It's hard to conceive, but there will be even more free porn available on the internet.

closer 03-23-2010 04:04 PM

People have been crying tubes / tgps and what all for years now, porn is still here, but it's not the easy sell as it used to be, but to blame tubes solely would be narrow minded to say the least.

I think all the scripting loops, cross and hidden selling have done way more damage to the industry then tubes.

Also, don't forget we have a new generation who grew up with internet these days, they know their way around so getting them to visit your site got way harder.

consider this and you'll be about right for the future.

If we nuked tubes and file share sites we'd be back to 2002 days again.

There will always be porn.

The delivery, and preference, will change with technology and fads.

Elias 03-23-2010 05:52 PM

Porn will still be there whatever shapes it takes. Might go back to the roots cuz the new is a well-forgotten old.

mx8829 03-23-2010 05:58 PM

Porn will be there, but level of service and user experience will change. Those who adapt will survive other will fade off, just like any other business.

I see cam site and live shows doing better.

marcop 03-23-2010 06:00 PM

If I knew where porn would be in 5 years: a) I wouldn't share it with anyone on GFY, and b) I'd be a zillionaire in 5 years.

XPays 03-23-2010 06:00 PM

a super crop of porn junkies and more acceptance of adult will lead to a tsunami of business

in 5 years the industry will be making more money from torrents and tube sites than all the other revenue streams combined

they will do it by
1. doing water marks correctly (no one is doing them right now)
2. using branding bug
3. doing live interaction properly (people are so close but still so far from doing this right)
4. setting up private trackers properly
5. doing product placement.

GAMEFINEST 03-23-2010 07:30 PM

same ol...more tube based.

Rochard 03-23-2010 07:40 PM

Some of us still remember when TGPs were "killing porn".

Porn will still exist. The paysite model won't be going away.

I'm hoping there will be strong Age Verification on every adult site especially tubes.
Full background checks to make sure people are of age.

This free shit to the world needs to stop. Lets hope by then, someone will put the hammer down.

Riffhard 03-23-2010 08:06 PM

I actually think the governments will do something to eliminate or drastically reduce piracy by then.

WiredGuy 03-23-2010 09:40 PM

I'd venture a guess between a convergence of media, television, internet, on demand. Monetization will be a lot tougher but the ones who make the big bucks will likely be those who invest big time into extremely high quality video.

Oldy 03-24-2010 12:17 AM

I forecast:
All the porn moives you make will probably be on youporn or xtube or redporn :D

xmas13 03-24-2010 12:21 AM

Porn will be on some world government ban list, and the word removed from the dictionary. :winkwink:

I've been saying the same thing, but a lot of people disagree. The way I see it is piracy is growing out of control exponentially every year. There is going to be a breaking point where some government "panel" will come in to rescue the industries effected, (music, movie, software, adult industries).

In someways, it's already in the works. Recently the recording industry dropped its policy of filing lawsuits against individual infringers in favor of partnering with ISPs to filter for unlawful content.

Congress has already introduced an amendment that would allow for "reasonable network management" practices such as deterring unlawful activity, including copyright infringement.

If something like this happened it would mean a huge reduction in traffic to any site that is being "filtered" and on a very large scale, (not just one ISP). Of course we are not talking about eliminating it, but greatly reducing it to the general population.

However, something like this would be bittersweet, would we really want some government panel to have the ability to filter what sites we can see?

NickB. 03-24-2010 12:52 AM

I think everyone needs to stop worrying and posting so much and do what they do best
a lot of joins/money out there

SGS 03-24-2010 01:06 AM

Agreed. :2 cents:

rokoroko 03-24-2010 03:34 AM

Yes TGPs were the problem 5 years ago and everyone was posting as many of them as possible. Now it's Tube sites and people are putting them up by the day. Ironic!!!!

This is the way forward IMO. But not as a separate entity to paysites. Paysites will have to become more than a place to download videos to survive.

That's the key to the future. Supply what the customer demands or lose him.
