Getting back into business, break of 3 years
 

Heya,

This are just some of my thoughts lately. I am a 22 years old university student from Europe having a half year of. Four years back I maintained my own babelog, errotica niche. It was going well but suddenly I decided to sell the blog to focus myself on other shit.
After a while I found out that I sold my site for way too less (20k quality traffic, PR5 in 2007). Since that moment I have been walking around with the idea to get back and start a new log. I learned from my mistakes I made back than and I can easily pick up contact with the webmasters from back than.

I need any advice too. I need a webhost, capable of hosting a Wordpress driven pages and a Arylia driven gallery system (probably). Need 500GB of traffic or so.. And ideas?

Yep. I read only since the short time I'm getting back in business here on GFY and many(!) things changed. So far I can say, yes there is and will be still money in porn, but it's all based on really hard work compared to years ago.

And the mistakes from the past could be now new one.

I would suggest:
1. read a lot here on the board concerning your planed business
2. look at the market, how do the same thing you will do
3. overthink if it's worth for you to spend time and money

If 3. is a yes, hold the costs low and choose investigations carefully.

now about your plan, 3 years ago was a good time to get out. the biggest problem these days is traffic because most of it is garbage or wont convert. 2nd biggest problem is finding sites that will convert well enough to make decent money.

there are a million adult blogs on the web now - not the story of 3 years ago (or when u started your old blog).

since you don't have access to that old traffic u will have to start from scratch building traffic and it is 1.000 times harder now. especially for a blog.

bottom line: blogs are dead. tubes are good for traffic but they dont make any money. however if u can make a great video site and find a way to earn money in this economy then u will not waste your time.

keep in mind some of the biggest and smallest adult companies have been bankrupted over the last year. porn sales are down. the world is ending. but good luck!

Best advice so far.

I have a degree and still love to work in adult. Every business suffers during these times, some more some less, but adult is at least fun. And I think adult is one of the businesses that suffer less. :)
