Why can't the film/movie industry make something that is both interesting and erotic?
I was just thinking today with all the movie threads and what not. Why can't anybody seem to make a decent film/movie with a good story and an erotic nature?
I think the closest thing I have seen so far is Baise Moi or 9 Songs (examples). But they don't quite have a good amount of either story or erotica to me. Private have been putting out good parody type films and original stories for a while now, but they miss the professionalism of a hollywood movie and the acting is piss poor. It doesn't make sense to me how nobody can seem to get the balance right. There must be a way to create a natural setting with amounts of sex that keep viewers interested. What are your views? |
i think thats depends on the budget of the film and need a lot of study about this film you want....

Good point. The porn industry can't because as you point out the actors can't act. Mainstream might not because the money is not there.

Budget is definately a factor. And yeah your right Paul, mainstream probably wouldn't want to do it, or even try and do it.
It's just one of them things I guess. You either watch a good movie with no decent sex scenes in it, or you watch porn. There is a really big grey area inbetween, suprised nobody has figured out how to get into it, and make something from it. |

Guys with big dicks can't act - Hence porn movies
Guys with small dicks can act - Hence mainstream. Never the 2 will mix. |
I quite liked "Dirty Dancing"... a lot of French Cinema is good....
and it is what we try and do in a modest way http://www.cinemaerotique.com/Traile...ve_trailer.wmv |
Both interesting and erotic. This is hard to do.
I watched the movie "Unfaithful." I thought it was interesting, the parts with the naked scenes. I think naked boobs and some parts of butt cheeks were shown. |

Here is the reason:
Money. It really is that simple. Any movie that has real sex in it will never get a mass release. If a movie has too much "movie sex" in it then it gets an NC-17 rating and will never get a wide release. They could make these movies and release them on DVD and pay per view, but then you have the issue of marketing it. It will be hard for it to find an audience if it doesn't have a known actor in it. If you want to put a known actor in it then it is going to cost you money. In the end most erotic style movies don't make much in the way of profit. The movie studies want as close to a sure bet as they can get so they stick to things that they know will draw audiences and that they can get on 2,000 screens with a release. |
