As do most rap concerts in general. Its just constant beats and noise and you cant hear the vocals most the time. Not to mention pretty much zero crowd participation (unless you count throwing your hands in the air like you just dont care haha), and thats what makes concert experiences the best IMO. There is nothing special or intimate about a rap concert, they are crap.

I cant really compare because I've never been to a Rap show (I usually go to rock/metal shows), but this one was pretty cool. He had a full band behind him that kicked ass & there was a lot of audience interaction and a killer set & lighting show. A lot of guest stars like this one:

Quality is amazing. Is it me or is the crowd not really feeling it? The guy in front of you is messing with his phone through the whole song.

GAMEFINEST 03-27-2010 05:16 PM

most rappers these days arent as good,

i use listen to old school rap now...

Most of the crowd was feeling it , but we were in the vip section (front & center), there were some recording industry douchebag types that are too cool get in to it, but for the most part the crowd was into it:thumbsup

Jay-Z sings the "New York" song. I sure like that song.

Great quality coming from a consumer point-n-shoot. And excellent work keeping your arms so steady!

Not into rap at all but this song gives me da gooze bumps :)

Thanks, must be because I was the designated driver last night - can't drink & drive through LA, unless you want a $10,000 ticket.:1orglaugh

I thought they don't allow camera's or phones in concerts. Time has changed I see.

I have been to well over 600 shows and seen over 1k bands live. How many have you seen? Just curious.

John-ACWM 03-28-2010 09:43 AM

Quantity vs. Quality :2 cents:

I'd take a Jay-Z show over 100 indie rock hipster fests (not saying thats what you like)

Saw Jay-Z this summer at an exclusive small show where you had to win tickets from the samsung website or the radio. Shit was sick.

That was awesome I wish I would have had the dough to see him in Dallas not long ago.
That camera takes very nice HD video for being relatively inexpensive. I know my Canon takes better video that my Sony Digicam

Thanks for sharing and Ice Cube was cool too

MALLcom 03-29-2010 02:30 PM

nice seats :thumbsup

I have ZERO interest in seeing a lot of rap acts live. The only one I would shell out money to see is Jay-Z. He doesn't use a "hype man" most of the time, which is usually a rappers "homie" who he "promised not to forget if he made it one day" and stands on stage and fucking just yells into a mic for the whole set.

lazycash 03-29-2010 06:38 PM

I just spent Sat night at Jay Z's afterparty at Tao in Vegas. Had a vip table and was five feet from him all night, it was nuts having 7k people in an area meant for 2k.

clicker 03-29-2010 06:56 PM

One of my favorite songs from 2009.

donkevlar 03-29-2010 08:00 PM

Nice, last time I saw Jay Z was on the Hard Knock Life tour in 1999 or something. Good stuff.
