southern living... on the way to beach i passed by a civil war re-enactment and decided to shoot some video there. basically a hardcore redneck gathering so i stuck out in the crowd just a wee little bit like usual...

and we get along fine, i wouldnt say they are openly racist around me. they do act entitled as a motherfucker like a lot of white folks do, but overall they are cool peeps and good neighbors. the confederate flag flying doesnt equate them to be racist its just their way of living. it doesnt mean they lynch brothers for fun on sunday afternoon like their grandpappy did. i thought of it more as a softcore klan rally that grandmama, the kids, and the whole family could attend

A civil war re-enactment is a historical re-enactment, so the confederate army is supposed to lose. Ever heard, you cant change history?

when I lived in Jacksonville FL the racists that I knew and worked with were very overt about it and it didn't matter who was around. I worked for a pipe laying crew (yeah ha..ha, municipal water supply) we had 3 white guys, the foreman, asst foreman and me and those 2 guys had klan stickers and shit on their trucks. We had 7 black guys on the crew too. I had to play middle man between the crew and the foremen... PITA
