Not that it matters anymore. In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal anymore. I just hate to see anyone make money and cause all kinds of legal bullshit for people.

Will there be the same uproar this time around? The last time this came around, it was basically drowned out by people complaining. The same issues still exist... trademarks, etc. Right?

Kolargol 03-30-2010 03:03 AM

email sent, I hope the .xxx idea will finally die.

Tjeezers 03-30-2010 04:16 AM

email send, i hope this XXX thing stops bugging us.

And if people do not send emails and explain why this .xxx thing is pure shit, then your plain stupid and ignorant. Protect your business, this is part of it

Nikki_Licks 03-30-2010 05:31 AM

Thanks for the link, I will get my comments in.

They need to shelve this crap.:2 cents:

TheDoc 03-30-2010 07:41 AM

Could someone please explain what the issues are with having .xxx over any other .whatever are?

seeric 03-30-2010 08:32 AM

the same issues exist.

like i said though, in the grand scheme of things it matters not anymore.

just some opportunist making money from people buying overpriced names out of fear.

legal proceedings are expensive. protecting trademarks is a must.

he will make a killing siphoning money out of this business for naught.

it's going to happen. but there will never be a mandated use of it nor will SEs give preferential serps to the extension. it's .mobi on steroids.

seeric 04-20-2010 08:53 AM

saw dave and redrob going it with some threads. i guess some other people do get it.

thought i would bump mine. pull your heads out of the sand and go tell icann what they need to hear.

diablom 04-20-2010 08:54 AM

I see no need for such domain endings.

Webmasters like to talk the "Talk"; but, do they walk the "Walk"?

This is your chance to put up or shut up.....Your name will be on the wall for all to see.

Take a minute out of you busy day and do the right thing.

Here it is.

Email Text:

I am a member of the adult entertainment industry. I support Option # 3 of the March 26, 2010 process options submitted by ICANN for public comment.

I do not support the creation of a .XXX sTLD and believe that the ICANN Board was well within its rights to deny ICM’s application in the 2007 Board meeting in Lisbon.

Regardless of the option chosen, I ask that ICANN continue to consider the widespread opposition of the sponsored community in any further decisions concerning a .XXX sTLD.

If you wish to elaborate:

Feel free to elaborate, if you like. Please be reasonably courteous and businesslike, as this is an international policy forum.

Background:

On March 26th ICANN responded to the Independent Review Panel’s Declaration concerning the challenge filed by the ICM Registry over ICANN's denial of ICM's application for the .XXX sTLD.

ICANN’s Board of Directors considered the Panel's Declaration at the Board's meeting on March 12, 2010, and directed ICANN's CEO and General Counsel to finalize a report of possible process options for further consideration, and post that report for no less than 45 days of public comment.

After carefully reviewing the process options reported, FSC strongly supports Option #3 of the three options supporting the dissenting opinion which upholds the 2007 ICANN Board decision in Lisbon denying ICM’s application of a .XXX sTLD.
