I'll speak up for some of my favorite restaurants in SF:
Sebo or Domo for sushi, Absinthe, Suppenkuche, Chez Papa (go to the Resto not the Bistro), Katana-Ya (great ramen and open late night), Catch and Woodhouse Fish Co. in the Castro are both good for seafood. I'll also second Ike's. I once stood in the rain to get a sandwich there. Clubs/Bars: Press Club and Amelie (both really good wine bars), Harlot, Mr. Smith's, Art Bar If you're ever unsure, check out Yelp. It's a SF staple, but take the comments with a grain of salt. |
Food - Globe, Boulevard, Osha, Golden Boy Pizza (mmm), RN74
Bars/Nightclubs - Bacchus Kirk, Mr Smiths, Kozy Car, Vessel, Mezzanine, Manor West, Roe, Sugar Cafe Strippers - Showgirls, Centerfolds, Gold Club Honestly, there are too many good places to list :) |
This is useful since I will be there in 2 weeks, never been. Staying in Union Square. How is the club inside the W? Too trendy?

what good restaurants you recommend are near there? |
Nice. Those tips will come handy in a few weeks. I'm heading to SF for Ad-Tech, April 19-21. Is there anybody from GFY attending Ad-Tech?
I'm planning to take 10 days of holidays after that, rent a Mustang and take the Highway 1 down to Los Angeles. Planning to stop at Santa Cruz and Monterrey. Is that a good idea? If you guys have any suggestions, that would be appreciated :) |
