Fuck me how does a kettle turn itself on ??
We have one similar to this (see below) kettle which is only 4 months old. It has a button which you have to push down for it to boil and then it pops back up when its finished. Well our kettle keeps switching itself on every now again and the switch pops up like somebodys pushed it down. How the fuck is this happening ???

Whoa, unplug it between uses I guess!
We have kettles in the states, but most often you would find that it's one for the stove top. You can buy stand-alone kettles, but you wouldnt consider it an a item that every household has like you would in UK I assume. |

I do remember the old stove kettles but you dont really see them much over here anymore. Everybody seems to use the electric kettles now |

fire hazard....get rid of it

They are kind of a fire hazard to start with, similar to say hair dryers. I always keep them unplugged.
|
yeah the fire hazard bit did cross my mind ..remind me to tell my misses to buy a cheaper kettle next time
|
Only 4 months old and it isn't working properly? I think I'd be asking for my money back.
|
i just switched back to the old stove, my stove does it well, pretty fast too.
