HowIGotRich - Would you promote them?
Seeing the DirtyD issue hanging over their heads.
Would you promote them or continue promoting them? |

Convert very well and pay!
|
No, I first ran into DirtyD at a seminar at Miami Internext last year and formed an opinion of him then that said 'dont touch it'
Then later, I found out I was right |

you nuts?

Good luck to all who promote it and I hope he pays you. If and/or this starts getting ugly and the legal biills start climbing, do you seriously think a guy by the name of "dirty" D is gonna think of his affiliates before himself?
If you think he will, then power to you, and don't jump on the hater train when/if he fucks you, cause the writing is on the wall. It's called self preservation. |
i would stay far away from it
|
If he gets thrown in the slammer do you really think affiliate payments are going to continue smoothly? Why even take a chance, just find another sponsor asap.

Dirty D is a dirt bag, but you can't judge a man for his name or especially his porn name. |
When I signed up a couple months back I seen the min was 100 in the terms. Well he paid me when I hit 50 last Feb 2. When I seen that i thought that was pretty decent of him.
So with "certain" progs secretly raising the min to 200, cough cough, Niche Castle, that was a pretty decent thing to do. So I don't know. Shame too, it was one of the 20% (being generous tonight) of progs that still sell. One thing I do know.. I pulled links on NC.. not so much cause I wasn't notified but because I have a limit of 100. 200... Puuuuuhhhllleeeesssseee Billy! |
I think the fair question to ask is, "HowIGotRich Affiliates, how is the program converting for you and does DD pay on time?"
|
after that non-paying issue that he had with someone few month ago, I would touch his program with 10 foot stick.

By Lyla Katz Thursday, Apr 1, 2010 Text size: TAMPA, Fla. ? One of the attorneys for Dirty D has filed a not guilty plea and made a request for discovery proceedings. This morning, attorney Bjorn Brunvand also requested that the judge reduce his $200,000 bond to $40,000 so that Dirty D can use the difference to pay his legal expenses. But Hillsborough County Judge Chet Tharpe sided with prosecutors and denied the request. Mark Cox, a spokesman for the state attorney office, told XBIZ that prosecutors argued against reducing the bond because they believe Dirty D has the financial means to support his case. Prosecutors said that, as part of Dirty D?s investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials found $60,000 in cash in his home, which they believe is appraised around $300,000. Prosecutors also said his company is worth $1million. ?I believe my client has complied with all federal guidelines,? Brunvand told XBIZ. ?He maintains his innocence.? Florida authorities arrested and charged Dirty D Mar. 17 with two counts of the promotion of a sexual performance of a child and two counts of the use of a child in a sexual performance. Dirty D several weeks ago told XBIZ in an interview that the claims made by a woman who says she was underage at the time of a Tampa Bay porn shoot in August 2007 are "completely false and inflammatory." An arraignment is scheduled for Apr. 5 when a new hearing date will be set following discovery proceedings. |
I wouldn't promote them now...
|
is there anyone from HowIGotRich?
|
why would you promote a program whos owner is in custody?
duh |
If they are converting well for you, might not be a bad idea to send a few hits.
Lets talk turkey. Is it legally wrong to send to this prog? No. So the q is will you get paid. If it is converting well I would have a hard time pulling a star player out of today's roster just because something hung over his head. Plus seems guys are getting paid on time up to date. So I say "links up". Plus my gut and experience tells me DD will pay if he poss can. It's still his money. Do you think he will be wiped out. Or you just don't want to "touch it". No problem I'll take your surfers. |
fair question would be " Do you want to do business with someone who is in jail "
No :) would not |
For the record, I pulled my links to HIGR a while back. :) I did, I'll be honest guys. But the way he paid me early.. I feel I would like to show respect as he did little shit me and send him traffic. Plus his shit converts and I dont think sending the prog traf is illegal is it?
I know it is a grey area now and most folks would rather not go there. Fact is affils will always send him traffic thru links they cannot get at or dont get to so cmon, lets get real. Will you cash the check if it comes and your links were pulled. :) (I'm ornery lately, tired from 4 days of taxes. But they're done :) Mostly ornery from horseshit conversions on April Fools Day. :( |

I just started to promote them but....
|
I think it's always a great bump to my self importance to kick people when they are down... after all, it's only fair since I was kicked when I was down... it just makes it even steven right?
|
Yeah, you should prob at least show respect publicly.
I stand by every sponsor who keeps me from working a real job. :) When the mob rises I will be the horse out. :winkwink: Unless you raise the min to 200, then I might have to turn on ya. lol :) j/k |
if he cant pay his legal fees how is he suppose to pay his affils

I do not know what is happening to him... What I can say is that normally keep getting. My payment is setup in 100.00 only. (I'm still a little webmaster)
Their websites are still listed in the major reviews (Rabbits, TBP...) I believe they are also being paid! If it's over now, I say... It was good while it lasted! |
It says 100 min but you may get paid at 50, I did.
I know of one pretty big traffic guy on this board (so do you all, he created a thread on this, but I hate to name drop) seems to have been paid. So if he isn't bitchin and noone else is bitchin, then he already is paying on time.. ..shit I'm partying (and sending hits to CWC) like it's 1999 :) |
this guy is gonna get nailed to the cross in a few days, lol.
it is ridiculous that the chick gets to walk away from all this unscathed though. absolutely ridiculous. she's 17, and she was seeking the work. she knew what she was doing. now if D is guilty he should have known better and deserves to get bitten for poking the beast, but she should still be held accountable for her actions. why is it that if she kills someone she would be considered and tried as an adult who was fully aware of her actions. yet she knowledgeably commits a crime here, and she is looked at as the poor little victim. CHARGE THE BITCH TOO. when kids are being charged with distribution of child pornography for taking pictures of themselves and sexting and whatnot, it seems kind of fucking retarded that she doesn't get charged in this whole event. |
Our links are staying up. In fact we have increased promotion.
When all this bullshit blows over we will be laughing our way to the bank as the competion dropped the links. |
how i got in dilema
|
fuck no. if hes away and some of his employees got into trouble too, then i have doubts you will ever see a payment from them.
I stick with trusted companies that have always paid on time and CCbill. Ill take a hit in conversion ratios to know I'm getting paid :2 cents: |

This industry has no morals, only ass kissers for money. So go ahead, you have my blessing |
I know D's got other shit on his mind, but might not be a bad idea for HIGR to issue an industry press release with a "state of the union" of sorts offering webmasters any assurances the company may be able to make that despite recent legal issues the program will continue to operate.
|
common sense.....
|
I wouldn't, but that is due to the Shoehorn incident. I don't think you can just not pay affiliates if the promotion method isn't covered in your TOS.
|
works great with chat traffic.

the feds could decide to look at every affiliate if they choose and who wants the potential for that... :2 cents: . |

He was being sarcastic about the fact that people are ready to drop him even though everyone is STILL receiving payments... while he's down... meaning, while he's in all this legal BS... leaving his program, reducing his overall revenue, just as he's hurting... |
I do promote his sites and will continue to. Now is when he needs the support and sales to help with the legal bills. He`s been around for a long time and has people to run his business if something should happen, I`m not worried!
|
I get paid on time..

Anyone that promotes them that doesn't consult with an attorney about whether or not to continue promoting them is completely irresponsible about his or her business, imo.
While your peers might have good or bad advice, unless you know for a fact or trust the opinion of good counsel whether you are liable or not for promoting what potentially will be considered child porn in this case, you are playing with serious fire. And don't say, "oh well I live in a country where 17 is legal so I don't have to worry" because unless you want to spend the rest of your days there you travel options may become seriously limited. |
