My blogs PR goes up but still shitty traffic

After over 2 months work on two blogs, the PR for both of them suddenly jump from 0 to 2 in just a couple of days. And the traffic is still less than 200 unique a day and the Alexa ranks are still hovering around 10 million (yeah, with many zeros).

Is this what you guys expect? I don't have any other website now to drive traffic whatsoever. Everything from ground up. I love high PR, quality traffic etc. But without volume, what's the point? Am I on the right track? I suppose PR is much harder to go higher. But is PR is over rated? And no, I have no signup yet.

Yes, pagerank is the most over-hyped, least understood metric on the planet. Build good content and traffic. Your goal is to make money, not to make the little green line in your toolbar grow.

I have no idea what the pagerank is on any of my sites and I don't care.

Thats because PR is useless unless you are trying to sell hardlinks to people who still think PR gives a shit for your traffic ;)

Hi Jinn, don't bother looking at your PR. It's pretty useless. Just make sure you keep writing quality posts that make sense at least a couple times a week. You gotta wait for the SE's to catch up. It took me about 3 months or so to see revenue coming in with my blogs. Hope that helps.

It's good to know that I am not too off the chart. My plan was to do it for a year before to decide if the blog thing works for me. It's just sometime the unease feeling comes up and I need some confirmation :)

No wonder there are quite some sites with good PR, no recent update and low traffic.

luv me sum pr long time 5 dolla hahaha!!

Forget PR, it used to mean something but not anymore, I wish they'd scrap it so would be easier to get other idiots to trade links. I'd sooner have 5 PR0 sites linking to me than 1 PR5.
If you want SE traffic concentrate on amount of links, not PR, and the anchor text is the key ;-)
Target 2,3 or 4 word phrases to get ranking quick with reasonable amount of traffic, like Hot Fat Teen Girls.
For huge traffic that takes time and lots of links target 1 word, like Teen. The other 2,3,4 word phrases will follow if your ranking for the main keyword.

thunder-ball.net is a great start for link building

Use google analyitics and webmaster tools.

Regural link building with right keywords should show some vast improvement and income within 3 months easily, google is updated constantly unlike before when PR and backlinks updates was done whenever they felt like it.

Give thunder-ball a try as free member and send me a message via the email system there.

As others have said above, PR is totally useless. In fact, Google has recently removed the PR data from its webmaster tools. Even Matt Cutts has blogged in the past that PR updates are pretty much a non-event.

I have 3 words for ya...Content, Content, Content. :thumbsup
