Is it moral?

is moral move to tell google if you notice that someone is using clear spam techniques and maintaining on first google page for months?

Cyber Fucker 04-07-2010 09:21 AM

Depends on.... for example it could be a competition that did this spamming to make his site banned by search engines... that happens.

d-null 04-07-2010 05:32 PM

not sure if "moral" is the right word to use, if you feel you are in a "war" with the other site and the battle is for the top position in the serps, some would say "all is fair game", would you say that the technique they are using is "moral"?

EmpireHP 04-08-2010 10:56 AM

if their site is crap and you legitimately have more to offer... then yeah!

papill0n 04-10-2010 01:58 AM

morals are extremely subjective

If I am getting beaten by someone who is cheating the system then yes, I report them. I can't stand people who think the rules apply to everyone but themselves.

EliteWebmaster 04-10-2010 08:40 PM

It's an ethical thing in my opinion. If someone is blatantly cheating, whether it affects your business or not, you should report them.

fatfoo 04-11-2010 06:29 PM

I think it would be moral to report spam. Sure, why not.

If you got enough evidence to prove it, I don't see why it would not be moral.

It's just envy in my humble opinion, no morals or ethics whatsoever...

If you play by the rules and someone else who doesn't is beating you, what is to envy? Most adults don't envy dishonest people. I envy those who play by the rules and can win honestly. Playing by the rules takes longer and requires more hard work than cheating.
