Most people have ZERO right to bitch about taxes

So when I hear all these teabaggers say how THEIR tax $$ are being watsed, fuck them. They GET money form the government. Fucking idiots.

WASHINGTON ? Tax Day is a dreaded deadline for millions, but for nearly half of U.S. households it's simply somebody else's problem.

About 47 percent will pay no federal income taxes at all for 2009. Either their incomes were too low, or they qualified for enough credits, deductions and exemptions to eliminate their liability. That's according to projections by the Tax Policy Center, a Washington research organization.

In recent years, credits for low- and middle-income families have grown so much that a family of four making as much as $50,000 will owe no federal income tax for 2009, as long as there are two children younger than 17, according to a separate analysis by the consulting firm Deloitte Tax.

The result is a tax system that exempts almost half the country from paying for programs that benefit everyone, including national defense, public safety, infrastructure and education. It is a system in which the top 10 percent of earners ? households making an average of $366,400 in 2006 ? paid about 73 percent of the income taxes collected by the federal government.

Agreed...

BestXXXPorn 04-07-2010 01:43 PM

WTF... I'm not a tea bagger but you're missing the entire fucking point...

The ones that don't pay taxes are the ones getting the most benefit... that's exactly what they're bitching about...

BestXXXPorn 04-07-2010 01:45 PM

And for reference (best I could find):

Pretty simple. Say you are married have 2 kids under 17. Income $31,000

standard deduction $11,400
dependants( 4 X $3650 )$14,600
Child tax credit ( 2 X $1000 )$2000
earned income credit $3000

total dedecutions and credits= $31,000

Income $31,000 - Dedecutons $31,000 = $0 in taxable income.

That's not counting other possible deductions just the most basic ones.

:2 cents:

Be interested to see that myself. I guess you are not supposed to complain about taxes :helpme

BestXXXPorn 04-07-2010 02:56 PM

Funny thing is I give more respect to the ones who fight against something they are receiving. It shows a wisdom and intelligence outside of their local scope.

There was a black mayor of a town where the KKK wanted to hold a rally. One hadn't been held there in many years and the townspeople were trying to shut it down. The mayor fought tooth and fucking nail to make sure they could hold their rally there. THAT is fucking awesome. I give so much props to that mayor for standing up for peoples' rights. He is a fucking hero in my book. Not to mention the bite of that irony for the fucked up KKK to have a black mayor be the only one defending their rights... fucking AWESOME

A) A lot of families do. Half the hosueholds in the US live off $52k or less.

B) It's an example of how someone pays ZERO taxes. Many people only pay 5% or 10% yet bitch about how they pay too much. What % is "fair"?

NetHorse 04-07-2010 08:49 PM

A family of 4 making $50,000..:1orglaugh Yeah, I'm sure they're the ones bitching about where their tax money is going.

what is the sense of voting if you can't complain about something, also making 31k means your poor and should not be paying more taxes.

I also don't think people who work hard and have 3 jobs or have a degree and earn more money should be penalized by being taxed more. I think success should be rewarded. Instead you have generations of families living in housing projects popping out kids living off the welfare system that I contribute to with my taxes. Why should they better themselves...so they can get taxed more.

This is by far the best country to live in if your poor...and if you own a home your fucked, because everytime local government needs money they tax the home owner first. They make up some bs about road repair, school funding, shortfall in the budget, etc. :321GFY

First I didn't say you can't complain but you can't complain about how YOUR taxes are spent if you aren't paying any taxes.

Second the $31k was an EXAMPLE. That's poor? then most of America is poor because $31K is $15 an hour. And half of America doesn't make that.

Ok another example married couple 2 kids under 17 with $52,000 a year income. That's the median income in the US.

standard deduction $11,400
dependants( 4 X $3650 )$14,600
Child tax credit ( 2 X $1000 )$2000
earned income credit $0

total dedecutions and credits= $28,000

Income $52,000 - Dedecutons $31,000 = $21,000 in taxable income.

Income tax on $21,000 = $2319.

% of income paid in income tax 2319/52000= 4.5%

Seriously how can someone who is paying less than 5% of their income in income taxes complain about paying too much? How much is fair?

Even a single guy with no dependants making $80K a year pays at most 17.6% of his income in income tax. And that's only if he's too stupid to not be able to find any deductions.

You know Bill Gates, Warrrent Buffet sure they can bitch. They pay more in 1 year than this entire board will pay combined over 50 years. Guess what they aren't bitching. Hmmmmm.

If you have to work 3 jobs to survive you're doing something WRONG.

IF your taxes are going towards welfares it's maybe a few pennies of each dollar at most. We'd save more money by having the Pentagon stop buying $500 hammers and $800 coffee pots, then turning around and selling them at auction for 25 cents.

Never been a democrat. I have been a republican though. Nice assumption retard.

GatorB 04-08-2010 03:27 AM

In 2005

25% of households in the US made $22,500 or less
53% of households in the US made $50k or less
75% of households in the US made $77,500 or less
84% of households in the US made $100K or less

16% of household made over $100,000
5% made over $167,000
1% made over $350,000

So when you get a room full of random tax whiners the vast majority aren't paying shit or are paying very little.

Well, 47% is not a vast majority, it's less than half. Then again I guess it depends on who you're hanging out with. It might be 0% or 100%.
