This is how gay Godaddy is now LOL
Dear (me),
On July 1, 2010, VeriSign®, the registry for .COM and .NET, will increase prices ? .COM will go up 7%, and .NET by 10%. The increase will be passed to registrars like Go Daddy and then, unfortunately, to consumers like you. As of July 1, we will be forced to raise registration and renewal* prices for these two popular top-level domains. If you wish to avoid this price increase, you can renew your domain names by June 30 and add another year to your current expiration dates. You have the option to register or renew for multiple years and lock in long-term savings. Of course, should you have any questions, please give us a call at 1-480-505-8821. Thanks as always for being a Go Daddy customer. |
Prices cant always stay the same.....
has nothing to do with godaddy....
all registrars are going to be raising prices in July :2 cents:
prices is going higger
tube2k tried icq'ing u no reply
I see it as a good heads-up...
Probably it's really better to renew them before July 1.
Doesn't look very gay to me. Prior warning so you don't sulk when you renew after July 1 and then find you could have got it cheaper if you did it earlier.
7% isn't excactly a lot on $7-8
If they were $100 each I would maybe be a bit pissed off but they ain't! |
price always go up i just wish sales increased as well
For people selling domains its pretty damn straight forward, pass the cost onto your clients as well, the end.
tube2k thinks he is creating a witty and clever thread, gets brought back to reality pretty fast.
mosts registrars sent out mails like that....
the price for domains has gone up by $0.49 ??

"MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, Dec 17, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, today announced, effective July 1, 2010, an increase in registry domain name fees for .com and .net, per its agreements with ICANN.
VeriSign announced that as of July 1, 2010, the registry fee for .com domain names will increase from $6.86 to $7.34 and that the registry fee for .net domain names will increase, from $4.23 to $4.65. As the economy and society becomes increasingly dependent on digital technology, it is imperative that investment in the underlying infrastructure, including .com and .net, continue to keep pace with the robust growth of the Internet and ensure its continued security and reliability. Over the last decade, the volume of Internet traffic and domain name system (DNS) queries on VeriSign's global infrastructure has increased from an average of approximately 2 billion queries per day in the year 2000 to more than 50 billion queries per day today while maintaining 100 percent operational accuracy and stability for the last eleven years. adds up considering the amount I own but has nothing to do with Go Daddy, will continue to go up every year or 2 no matter where you register them.
We use to pay $100 a year per domain.
It will affect the domainers though, but got email from other registrars too.
hell.. Anything is cheaper then the $75/year I use to have to pay for domains. A small increase will not affect me much.
How gay is it?
Jimmy |
Not worried about $0.70 more per domain. If domains where $20, i would still renew them.

times must be tough running a tube site if you're crying about 7% on a $7 item.
