Just got done upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate like 5 minutes ago and...
I hate the taskbar...
:Oh crap |
ive been using it for 6 months or so, so far so good. the bar is a little shitty because it isnt easy to add apps to the bar that you use frequently. or atleast i havent figured out how to. But if you press the windows button and just type whatever program you want in the search bar and it just starts it is really good.

What sucks is how big it is, the date under the time, and I miss my quick launch. Fuckin' shit... Maybe I should play around with it a lil more and figure shit out. |
Just right click the icon when you have the program open and click "pin to taskbar" and it will stay there forever whether it's open or closed.
|
at least they let you customize it.

click PERSONALIZE click TASKBAR AND START MENU check USE SMALL ICONS |
Windows 7 blows all previous Windows OP Systems out of the water. People always say adapt or die in this business, yet half of them run XP. There isn't anything on my computer (or in it) that is that old.
I'm loving the Win 7, first OP from them I actually felt good paying for. |
Right Click on task bar click Properties and select Never Combine in the Taskbar Button.
First thing I changed. :) |
Still fun of good old XP

I have one computer with XP and one with Vista. Looking at them, one would think I was running Windows 98. I'm sure you can make similar changes with 7.

Love Windows 7

If you like the Quick Launch from Vista better, here is what you can do.
Right click on an empty space on the task bar. I am not using English OS but I believe it's called Toolbar -> New Toolbar or something like that. Now navigate to %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer Then mark 'Quick Launch' and click 'Choose folder'. Note: the AppData folder above is hidden so make sure you are able to see hidden folders and files. Unlock taskbar and move it to the left. You can then right click and turn off 'show text' and 'show title' to save space. |
The positives of Win 7 outweigh the negs overwhelmingly.

one of the best i have every used..

+1 for Win 7 and yeah, just change up the taskbar, there's a ton of settings...
Also if you know what you're doing check this out: Create a new Folder on your desktop and name it exactly: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} It will change to a special icon and give you access to all of your settings in one place. Pretty tight, great easter egg... |
Opening GodMode just updated all my sites with fresh unique, never seen before content!!
Who'd have thought!? |

Windows 7 is my favorite so far. Haven't tried Mac yet though...
|
At first, it just feels odd, but once you get the idea, its a pretty good implementation of a cleaner/sexier taskbar imo.
|
Running windows 7, my task bar is 'normal'.
It only takes about 3 clicks to revert it. http://www.ninjito.com/bar.gif |
