Roethlisberger - Do you think they are going to file charges?
 

The DA is supposed to be telling if they are going to press charges against him at 2:00.

I haven't followed the case uber closely. It seems that I read a headline about some security tapes at the night club being "accidentally" erased, but I am not sure on that.

I think charges probably should be filed, but I'm not positive that they will be. I'd bet money that the NFL is going to hit him with a Morals Clause suspension though.

Highly doubt it, the bar destroyed the evidence.

I thought the most telling thing out of the whole press conference, or at least the part I listened to, was when the DA took the mike again, and a reporter asked if he would let his daughter go out with Ben Roethlisberger. The DA said that he had a son, not a daughter. The reporter re-phrased it to ask if the DA had a daughter would he let her go out with Roethlisberger. The answer was no.

Looks like the illegal procedure penalty on Big Ben has been declined.

Considering it came out THREE DAYS ago charges wouldn't be filed I'd say no.

Haven't been online other than essentials since sometime Friday, so it was news to me.

I don't know if they will file charges, but at my Fantasy draft this year he will be referred to as Rapeslesberger.

There's still the statement by the victim. Oh I forgot, what a victim says doesn't mean anything.

The rape victim goes to a police officer and the pig never wrote down Roethlisberger's name. This is the same pig who Roethlisberger's people claimed was with Roethlisberger partying at the same club and couldn't have possibly have raped anyone. But the pig was first partying with Roethlisberger at ANOTHER CLUB 90 minutes EARLIER. The bar destroyed the surveillance video. And Roethlisberger's bodyguards kept club goers from entering the bathroom where he was raping her. He also has a history of rape allegations. But Roethlisberger has money and once again, another wealthy well known celebrity walks.

Fuck Roethlisberger, I hate seeing these motherfuckers get away with this shit.

I've read a few threads on sports sites since yesterday, and the fact that some of the Steeler Nation are in this guy's corner is amazing to me.

I don't know how anyone could have listened to that press conference and not come away feeling like Big Ben is pretty slimy. We'll never know what happened in that bathroom, but I think it's safe to say that even if there was not enough evidence to charge him that a 28 year old multi-millionaire NFL marquee player who is trolling college bars, who has his off duty police officer body guard escort a highly intoxicated 20 year old into the bathroom, then said 28 year follows her in, closes the door, and leaves his body guard outside the door...

he's probably not going in there to give her insight as to how he runs the offense.

And when that same coed emerges with bruises and lacerations in her genital area, I think it's safe to say that he behaved less than gentlemanly.

Hell, I've read countless shooters in our biz say that they will not shoot a chick who is under the influence of anything. They don't want any potential ramifications on whether or not she was legally able to consent to shoot.

While I thought that the DA was very impressive in the press conference, they must have some funny laws down there in Georgia. Because even if you are of the mind that the girl was just some money grubber after BR's money, and she was in full favor of it all, how can a underage drinker who, by all counts, was very drunk, give consent?

I read earlier the woman asked for him not to be charged because of the endless harassment she's gotten from the press and society. She hasn't changed her story and still says he attacked her but the harassment and threats has gotten to her and she asked for him not to be charged.

But she was drunk, led into a bathroom by him, his bodyguards kept people from entering the bathroom, the club destroyed the video tape, and the first officer she went to and told her story didn't even write the rapist's name down. The officer also failed to mention he was partying with her attacker earlier that night in a different club 90 minutes earlier and not in the same nightclub that his people said the officer and rapist were partying together at.

This guy is clearly a bad apple... and the Georgia PD ends up looking like either slimy NFL sycophants or a bunch of hayseed rubes, letting the evidence be destroyed etc.
