Get Motivated Conference - any one gone to one before?

I was here all day today: http://www.getmotivated.com/city.aspx?a=5170

I thought most of the speakers were great, but there was some infomercial guys mixed in.

Has anyone gone to one of these conferences? What did you think?

Any chance anyone was at the one in New Orleans today?

Seemed a good line up for the cost ! ?

I almost went to one a few months ago with Donald Trump and it was free....I think its a roadshow he has going across USA/Canada........but when I saw the fine print saying he wasnt going to be there and on further investigation you could see it was simply a bullshit thing he has set up to sell some over priced courses ...:(

The "advertised" speakers were great. But the second half of the day consisted of 3 different speakers, all of which had 3x - 4x more talking time and they were pretty much infocomercials trying to sell their get rich quick products... which covered getting rich in real-estate, using some bullshit stock market software that was suppose to give you a 25% return or more, and a guy who was going to show you how he makes million online.

I should have left after lunch, but they purposely had Drew Brees come on at the end so most people would sit through the garbage to see him.

The general admission was pretty much free, but I paid extra to get floor seats.

Based on your comments I would assume then its best to avoid the upsell type gigs at the lower price and go to more expensive ones I see advertised ..although the cost is crazy ranging from....300 - $1500 for the day.....

Would be interesting to see if anyone here has purchased one of the expensive tickets to a motivation type seminar and if it was worth it.

its just more hype and bullshit. I paid about $75 to see on the floor. The audience seating was $1 a ticket. Goes to show you how much money they must be suckering in from the audience with the 3 snake oil speakers. They probably pay a ton of money to the organizers for that air time and where the organizers make most of their money.

The only "motivational" dudes I read or listen to (audio books) are Zig Zigler and Napoleon Hill. Very practical and it really sinks in and translates to real world results.

Zig was at this conference, but he fell a couple years ago down a flight of stairs and they claim he has bad short term memory now. So they assist him up on to the stage, ask him a couple questions which he spends a couple minutes replying to, then they play a video of him for 10 mins and that was it.

I feel sorry for the guy, they have a conference in different cities each week and he is at all of them. They need to let the poor old guy retire.

I was going to go to one once but I just couldn't get up for it.
