Tea Party...Militia?!?!
I don't think the two party system is working well at all, but this may be taking it a little far...
Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty. "Is it scary? It sure is," said tea party leader Al Gerhart of Oklahoma City, who heads an umbrella group of tea party factions called the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance. The founding fathers "were not referring to a turkey shoot or a quail hunt. They really weren't even talking about us having the ability to protect ourselves against each other," Brogdon said. "The Second Amendment deals directly with the right of an individual to keep and bear arms to protect themselves from an overreaching federal government." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100412/..._party_militia |

no it hasn't worked because we haven't enforced our rights

I think the fact that your people can bear arms is a good thing. If the people feel the government is out of control they can do something about it. You are seeing the same sort of thing in Thailand, though they dont have guns. Sometimes people just have had enough.

McVeigh would be so so proud

Some people want to live in a nanny state where the government runs every aspect of their lives, some don't. These folks don't and I tend to learn more towards their side.
|
Seems like a slippery slope, and given Oklahoma's history with Militia's, well, it just doesn't seem like the smartest thing
|
Recent political setbacks? What might that be referring to?

Another right Americans enjoy is the vote. The vote might just be stronger that bullets and militias. Another right is speech. Many politicians don't seem to be listening to the majority and may find themselves out of a job. |

Right now those three black politicians are under fire for saying they heard racial slurs crossing the street from the tea party members, with all the cameras rolling, no one caught it, they said they were spat on, again, all the cameras going, they can't prove it. It's got to the point that their is an organazation dedicated to infiltrating the tea party and then throwing out slurs and spitting to disgrace the organization. People that are in the Tea Party are being peaceful and protesting the way government it spending money and thats their legal right. It pisses me off when they are put down for using their constitutional rights to protest by liberals that just don't want to hear from anyone that has a different opinion, it's sad that the left is not listening to the people , but instead hoping to get it thru the court systems, just like in california In california, we voted to end the support of the government to illegal aliens, but a judge said it was illegal to do that, he basically said fuck what the people say, im a leftist prick and I make the law. Now the gay marriage thing is back up and they lost trying to not listen to the will of the people and getting their way with the courts. It was in the paper today, they lost. I can only hope that someday soon, some of these politicians get their wake up call from the voters and end up with out a job, too bad they still get paid after they leave office, thats something that should stop. |

Yeah, their latest ploy is to pretend that liberals are infiltrating them and are the ones making all the "mob" type shouts and posters and such.
Pretty desperate. Just relax and have some tea and a biscuit. Maybe you remember "free speech zones" that the riot police would set up for liberal protesters during the Bush years. Maybe we need tea party zones. What do you think. |
The social engineers will just herd these people so that they end up shooting other groups of Americans. Divide and Conquer:2 cents: The next American revolution will be a complete fucking joke. I bet 90% of these guys will surrender just by the government offering Big Macs and fries in exchange for their guns.
The Tea Party is just another diversion or shock absorber like Ron Paul. My opinion is that everyone is going to get what they deserve. If you become fat, lazy, dumb, and spend more money than you make then you deserve what ever the elites have planed for you. |

Yeah I remember the protests, it was about the wars, Obama has been in office for how long and how is the war going for you? You know it's funny when Bush was in office we got a daily update of the death toll from the liberal media, now that Obama is sending troops, no more death tolls, did they stop dieing? Or is that not important to you? |

At any rate what good would a militia do in your scenario anyways? NONE. That's the point. |

Why the fuck do people always speculate what the "founding fathers" wanted or favored or wanted that that was over 200 years ago? It was a different world, a different time. What was considered suitable back then would not work today.

The fact that these right wing nut jobs are all sorts of vocal and frustrated - now that we have a black president - should speak volumes as to where their heads are at.
Where were they during the 8 nightmare years that were the Bush Administration? To be honest, I would love to see the uneducated sheep, that watch Fox and listen to right wing propaganda, achieve their own back-assward country of their own! It will be an isolated, hick-run, corporate owned, douche-bag country, where they can all worship Palin and marry their sisters. More power to them! Palin 2012! Assholes.... |

I want to know where these tea party idiots were when Bush was raising taxes, starting bullshit wars, and destroying the country.

You guys honestly believe that American Troops will go to war against their neighbors, friends, family? People that look like them? Are you fucking that stupid?

Hmm, if the 'founding fathers' wanted people to have guns so they can overthrow the government when they become out of control (or whatever reasoning) shouldn't that mean that attempts to kill government officials, including the president should be not only legal but a patriotic act?

The problem is an abundance of racist hicks in the US. They're having hissy fits because a black is president, a latino woman is in the supreme court and an openly gay man has a seat of power in congress.
This is their nightmare come true because in their warped minds its "the land of the free...if you're a god fearing WHITE amerikan." The funny thing is Obama has been Bush-lite so far, he's towing the line like the rest before him catering to the corporatocracy and not answering to the people so....blech |

singed- Kent State class of 1970 "Yeah" signed- union and confererate soldiers So who are the militia going to shoot at them moron? You go around carying a gun around unless you intend on using it. |
Obama campaigned on ending the occupation of Iraq (coming along nicely). And increasing troops in Afghanistan. He sent more than even military expected and they were delighted.
Oh and dont forget Confederate History Month in Virgina where slavery never existed, lmfao. What a boner that was for that newbie. |

They were cheering on the very administration that could not give a flying shit about them, as they were not the rich. They were busy calling everyone who did not support the idiotic Bush decisions traitors, and bad Americans... that's where they were! Hypocritical, racist, douches, who are so brainwashed by the far right wing asswipes, that they continued to cheer on their own demise. Obama is trying to help them, and they are so fucking retarded, that they believe what the multi millionaires on the right convince them to believe. I would love them to have their own country - good riddance! |

I've been following the Militia movement inside the US. They've been active long before Obama was even on the radar. They really got a boost after the events of 9-11. Stop with they're all racist red necks propaganda you have fallen for. They're resisting what they feel is a over reaching government.
