I've got all 3, PS3 gets used the most.

AlphaSky 04-17-2010 08:51 PM

Just wait a little longer until they release Wii 3D. Then the old Wii's will be super cheap.

NaughtyRob 04-17-2010 10:36 PM

Got 360 since it came out, there is no comparison. Got the Wii for fun family gatherings.

eMonk 04-17-2010 10:36 PM

I also have all 3 systems, but I'd also say go with an Xbox360 because nowadays, pretty much everyone has a 360 these days, so the kids could also bring their own games with them.

I wouldn't recommend getting a Wii because you may have a bunch of first time Wii users and/or young kids swinging the controller around in front of your flat panel tv, ha ha. I know when my kid's friends come over, they get pretty close sometimes and it scares me watching them, I have to keep saying "back up a little", ha ha.

The PS3 is a great system and it's pretty durable, but the fact that with a PS3 controller HAS to be plugged in to charge up, there's no way to get at/change the battery pack, so you can't just pop on a different battery pack or a couple of AA batteries like you can with the 360 which could make the PS3 more of a hassle. It's fine and you get used to it if you own one yourself, but for a situation like you have, I'd say it could be more of a pain. The PS3 discs are more resistant to scratching though and it does have the blu-ray player.

mineistaken 04-18-2010 10:48 AM

get xbox

Sly 04-18-2010 11:02 AM

I think that for a vacation rental I would suggest a Wii. People go on vacations to have fun with family and friends, group activities. Wii is great for group activities. Non-gamers can get involved and have a blast.

Although Slick does bring up a good point, you can charge them for breaking the TV. ;-)

When you want to charge the PS3 controller, you just plug it in... Is this not better?

It does mean you have to stay near the gamestation, but at least you do not need to stop playing.

& yes, the PS3 is blueray, the picture quality seems better with HDMI.

There is no comparison, PS3 all the way!

Yeah, that's a good point to, I suppose he could just buy longer cords for it. I am with you on it, of the 3 systems, I do love my PS3 more than the other two. My only complaint is that the PS3 can't compare for the online system. I hope they get something better soon, I suppose for free though, I shouldn't complain.

Sly does have a great point that I didn't think of when I posted, the games for the Wii are the most family oriented games you can get and people of all ages can have fun with them. If people are on a family vacation, you'd want games that everyone can play rather than a couple that the teens sink their heads into, ha ha.

Actually, thinking here, I can't think of many games you could get for a PS3 or Xbox that'd be fun for the whole family. The most popular games are the war games like Modern Warfare and stuff like that or sports games.

mikke 04-18-2010 11:50 AM

DamianJ 04-18-2010 11:53 AM

Whichever one has the games you want to play.

If you want God of War3, you have no choice but to get a PS3. If you want Wii Fit or the sports thing, you have to get a Wii.

It all boils down to which games you want.

Most definately agreeing with this now.

Its the Wii that Forest should get as he did state for a property to rent out. This means the games console should give enjoyment to everyone.

Forest, all these people, including myself were comparing one to another or saying what we prefered. Now with a open though, Slick has mentioned a simple comment. Fun for the whole family. Thats the Wii mate... :thumbsup

It is nothing like xbox live. I use both. It is clunky, seems like a beta, ugly, and most importantly, there are less people on it than are on eggbox live. Therefore you have to wait longer to get a game.

yeah i like slicks points. and ALL renters pay a 1500.00 deposit plus they are required to buy an incidental insurance policy for 50.00 that covers another 1500.00 in damages. Im buying a 400.00 flat panel tv so im not so worried about that

i dont game so i dont really care.

i need something durable and versatile.

sounds like the wii has the most versatility. does it play dvds?

IllTestYourGirls 04-18-2010 01:27 PM

If you are going to be renting the vacation home to families get the WII with some accessories.

VeriSexy 04-18-2010 01:47 PM

I have all 3.. the 360 gets the most action

MrPotatoBread 04-18-2010 08:36 PM

i like the xbox

NaughtyRob 04-18-2010 08:50 PM

Also with the XBox we rent Netflix and watch them through it. :-)

That charge thing annoys me too. When I need a charge, I just pause the game for a while if I'm playing and go do something else, or just leave the system on and let it charge. I've had the PS3 on for days at a time, and had no ill effects on it.

The PS3 takes blueray. If it is for a rented accomadation though, I would have to agree with "Slick". The family can have more fun together with Wii.

Me neither. PS has a large collection of people at PS online :( PS3 runs much smoother & looks far better on screen. I too, don't understand what he means by "clunky"? Maybe he meant "clucky" as he had said something strange about "eggbox"? :1orglaugh

sojproductions 04-19-2010 04:44 AM

playability and range of games is more superior on the xbox - will is the best for all out fun - ps is good for nothing imo

Scott McD 04-19-2010 07:08 AM

I'd say PS3. That's what i have anyway and love it! :thumbsup

To be honest though, you can't go wrong with either a PS3 or the 360.

The Wii is shit though. I hate it. It's good if you are 5 years old...
