Im in Denver, my GF calls me last night to tell me my Condo was robbed of around $10,000 worth of stuff. My gf is a jeweler and much of her work was taken as well as all my dvd's, xbox games, and a credit card.

Ill spare you all the details but I have substantial evidence that it was an employee of the building. Anyhow, Ive prepared a letter which will be circulated to every unit in my building warning the residents. I am also in the process of setting up a simple website where residents can sign a guestbook because it is my firm belief that this is not the first time this has happened and it would be a great way for all residents to voice concerns annonymously (sp).

I have no HTML editor where I am so Im asking for a bit of help for a simple design as well as a guestbook script. Im really pissed because I pay a lot to live where I do and such a security breach is unacceptable.

If someone can help me out real quick Id appreciate it. contact me on AOL below if you think you can help. I Plan to raise holy hell for my buildings mangement and as I stated before have substantial evidence linking the crime to an employee of the building. The building staff may not like me. they're haters and I was targeted because they know I have lots of nice shit. I order a ton of stuff online so the doorman(s) probably think Im some trust fund baby who doesnt work or something.

Most of the time its someone you know or someone who has been in your place a few times.

I guess I'm closing the door after the horse is out of the barn, but might I suggest a video surveillance setup for future protection..

When someone steps into my place.. the motion detector kicks in and 3 cameras record all.. and a phone call is automatically placed to my neighbor and my cell phone..

run the whole letter through a spell check. you have at least three mistakes in your first sentence alone.

also, you might want to put at least one item of compelling evidence in your letter. it can be seen as libel by the building admins.

It is unfortunate one would become the victim of such a crime, as you have described, especially during the holiday season. My initial thought is that pointing fingers in the absence of actual evidence could prove to be counterproductive, and further hinder your ability to thoroughly investigate. Unless you have solid evidence directly implicating a building employee, it might be best to refrain from open accusations,

Person(s) who may have knowledge or evidence to offer might distance themselves from your investigation, if you are perceived as a loose cannon, ready to accuse the first person who "looks guilty".

Check with the stores where the card was used and see if the security cameras recored the transaction. You might recognize the person using the card.

If it was a building employee, he wouldn't have to tamper with the lock. They all have those universal locks that can open any door in that building.

I live in a building, and I am too, really afraid of getting burglarized. In the recent weeks new staff came in, and the old left. And besides, every little thing that goes wrong in the apartment, the admins give the universal key to those private individuals like plumbers, etc to fix it in your apartment. They can easily copy it and target some apartments that they found to be "worthy". I am not saying I have a lot of shit in my apartment, but definately worth something.

I've been thinking of setting up surveillence cameras but keep dropping that idea. Maybe I should really put a few.

Anyways, I hope you will find the burglar(s). Make sure you check with those stores, as well as the building cameras to see who entered/exit the building around that time. Then match it with the cameras at those stores where the CC was used (one of them should have a camera) They should have the recorded tapes for at least a week. If it was erased/forged, then it is certainly a building employee. They can legally refuse to give you the tapes, but it may be done through the police.

Also, it would be good to take some fingertips marks if possible, but that's already an expert job that may cost some money.

Btw, was his feces flushed already ? It can be a really good DNA sample, really.

how could you tell the lock was tampered with? my friends girl used to be a manager at an apartment complex and they caught someone making copies of the keys and selling them to people who would break in and steal all kinds of shit.
