Wow! Those are amazing, was wondering what a glacier-covered volcano eruption would actually look like.

yeah that would be a hell of a thing to see in person not just pics of it

NBBCash Matze 04-20-2010 03:08 AM

wow some really nice shots! Just too bad that almost the whole air transportation (tourists, business, export, import) here suffers because of this spectacle.

A few years ago when they thought Mt Mayon was going to blow in the Philippines, I took off to watch it.

It never did "blow" but all day and night it was spewing lava smoke. I went with locals on a several hour hike to see where the lava was. It was intense. The wall of molten rock was about 20 feet tall, with cracks in it with smoke and lava leaking out. It was so fucking hot I thought I was in hell. I posted about it back then along with some pics.

If you've never been close to lava or on a volcano when it's spwewing, it's dangerous but I recommend it if you're one of those types of guys.

Great pics Dave, thanks for sharing. :thumbsup

pornguy 04-20-2010 05:29 AM

You really need to watch your " Eyjafjallajokull " mouth on this board.

:)

4pleasure_Davide 04-20-2010 06:27 AM

Not good ! :'(

ShellyCrash 04-20-2010 06:27 AM

Wow, the combo of the lightning w/ the volcanic activity really is just breathgtaking.

The Top Gear shot is pretty impressive in it's own way. What an amazing opportunity to be there at that perfect moment. Great ad for Toyota.

Konkan 04-20-2010 06:35 AM

i wish to be there feel the real excitement of the volcano`s breath. but its ok if stay back home to watch it on tv

fatfoo 04-20-2010 06:47 AM

Ash from Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano continued to keep European airspace shut down over the weekend. This has to be one of the hardest volcano names to spell. It is also difficult to understand more about how a volcano works. All these acts of God are hard to understand: Earthquakes, volcanos, tsunamis, tornadoes, lightning and thunderstorms. This volcano ash from Iceland sure delayed many flights and it prevented some people from going to the Polish events and funerals. The President of Poland and many other important Polish leaders were killed in a plane crach on a saturday in April 2010 and now Poland has to recover with its politics.
