why do cities even allow them to operate in residential neighborhoods?

i was looking for that creepy music ice cream trucks play for a little project so i went to youtube - here's this guy's creepy ice cream truck, even his cat knows something's not right

anyone seen "sex education" around lately

but i would run after it as a kid lol ....

i thought of him too when i saw the video.

From watching movies such as Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke, I discovered that some ice cream trucks are secret weed dealing operations.

i never had an ice cream truck in any neighborhood i lived in - only time i ever encountered one like this was visiting my cousins in Florida as a kid.

we had teenagers who had ice cream vending pedal things - no music.

any job that doesn't require a university degree and puts grown adult males in constant contact with children is suspect - priests, boy scout leaders, coaches, circus clowns, comic book shop guy, etc

that's a sad way of looking at things.

i'm not sure about the exact number but a very high percentage (like 80% or so) of child abuse happens inside the family or through close friends of the family

i don't think i've heard of many if any pediatricians, dentists, or school teachers having sexual relationships with children but there are countless cases of boy scout leaders, priests, athletic coaches, etc who have and do.

i was being flippant when i posted that but there is some truth to it.

I have two friends who drive ice cream trucks. I'm always scared they're gonna get robbed.

There was an incident in my neighborhood last summer where an ice cream guy offered some young teen girls free ice cream and told them to come into his truck.

I love it when the ice cream man comes round ..he normaly gives me a free iced anus for free :winkwink:

I do like the clams they sell over here in the ice cream vans though :)

the only person i had creep on me as a kid was a teacher. i have heard many anecdotes of professionals creeping on kids locally, but since they are usually well connected the incidents are usually swept under the rug by the cops, media and courts.

My saddest ice cream truck story

I remember back in high school, my bro and I were hanging around some Filipino gangbangers and this ice cream truck was making the rounds. I didn't know that when my bro and I were ordering some ice cream, dudes in the back were up to some funky shenanigans. Sure enough, the ice cream truck turned the corner to reveal itself as a rolling gang billboard. I remember hoping that afternoon that it doesn't roll by Vermont and Temple in LA--rival gang territory and a sure way to get shot up. Shits and giggles... back then.

Looking back now, such memories sadden me. Dude was just doing his job and had kids to feed. Didn't need the extra aggravation of cleaning up vandalism caused by misguided immigrant punks.

Nothing like age and years for some real perspective.

oh yeah, they are out there. they just hide much better because they are typically smarter. there was one pediatrician not long ago arrested for molesting over 300 kids and videotaping most of it.

anywho...yeah those ice cream trucks are creepy. we don't have them here, just the kids on the bikes like you mentioned. there is one guy around here though that drives around in a truck like that offering to sharpen people's knives and axes and such...i can't imagine he gets much business...

I had a friend that started a sharpening business like that. He bought a van and he'd go to construction sites and offer to sharpen saw blades and stuff. When he first told us his plan we thought he was crazy but his idea took off in a big way. Construction was booming and there was a need for his service. He was also the only one doing it that way and cornered the market. Soon he got a second van and then a third and eventually got a brick and mortar store to work out of and sold new blades and fasteners and other construction supplies as well. He had a vision for something we never saw and it worked out very well for him :thumbsup

I used to love it as a kid when the ice cream man would come walking around with his push cart but like many have said, today's ice cream man gives me the creeps and I have little trust for them.

My favorite memory comes from when I worked construction and on one particular site a girl would come with her catering truck for break time. It looked like the one pictured above with the two girls and the guy looking out the window.

Her truck was set up so she would bend down and look out the window to take your order and then she would stand up inside to make it. When she did that all you saw of her in the window was from her thighs up to her chest and she would face out because everything she had was on a shelf above the window.

So you would stand there waiting for your order all the while staring at one of the best camel toes I've ever seen. It wasn't by accident as she would come every day wearing something different that would show her camel toe off and she knew exactly what she was doing. It was like looking at a camel toe aquarium. When she pulled up to the job site it would come to a grinding halt and everyone would buy something. Sure wish they had cell phone cameras back then. :winkwink:

the program bought/leased an ice cream truck just for that site? isn't that really expensive - those trucks aren't cheap. i'd just find a guy with a truck and make a deal to rent it for the day(s) girls are booked for shoots.
