ManuteBol 04-20-2010 08:44 PM

Not as funny as Big_D's meltdown/recovery threads, but very good none the less.

I laughed very hard.

Well, fuck that guy. An 87 year old hooker awaits you.

fatfoo 04-21-2010 10:29 AM

An intervention is a useful thing. Some people think about increasing their skills or going to school in increase their good habits. However, instead of increasing your good qualities, have you ever thought about decreasing your bad qualities? Quit bad habits.

A lot of people go to work to earn some money. Going to work is a good habit. What about quitting a bad habit? Quit smoking and save $$$ now!

Interventions are destructive, self-serving (to the ones hosting it) acts of abuse that should be criminalized. If someone wants to change their ways, they will change. No one needs to be psychologically BEATEN DOWN by anyone, and NO good ever comes from it.

:2 cents:

Kirby 04-21-2010 10:48 AM

i lold!

Kirby 04-21-2010 10:49 AM

Waddymelon 04-21-2010 10:51 AM

Alcohol and opiate addicts disagree.

Not really. Just posting an alternative view to what was posted. Whether it's a bot's point of view or not doesn't really interest me much.

Waddymelon 04-21-2010 10:54 AM

I'm clubbing baby seals over here. Who's that at the door?

Do they?
Gather up a few dozen and let's ask them if they would prefer to come to their own decisions or sit in a room with a bunch of idiots telling them how horrible they are as a person and giving them ultimatums. I'd bet not many will choose the abuse room.

cosis 04-21-2010 11:00 AM

haha funny shit

_andy_ 04-21-2010 11:01 AM

From what I understand, of course people that are physically addicted to opiates, benzos or alcohol are basically on a death spiral. They're using because they have to and not because they want to, in a lot of cases. So taking a 'whatever it takes' approach to get the medically detoxed and rehabilitated is an understandable tactic, considering the addict will most likely kill him/herself with their current usage.

But I hear what you're saying when it comes to people that are not full blown addicts.

uno 04-21-2010 11:06 AM

I was watching that episode with my wife and we were both taken aback at the unexpectedness of that cry and its force.
