our dog died today
 

My girls daughter's dog got real sick yesterday and seem to get worse today so we took him to the vet. They told us he had sever kidney problems and they couldnt really do anything for him. They said they would be more then willing to try and save him but that cost could be up to $7000 and even then he had a very very slim chance of making it....

I couldn't imagine losing my dog, that is going to be a very sad day in our household. He genuinely is part of the family.

Man, touch choice to make. I was put in the same position when I bought a puppy that caught parvo because the prior owner tried to save a few bucks on his shots. Grrrrrr....

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dog of 14 years "Toto" a few months back to a vicious coyote attack. Put it this way... I wish he was here to shit and piss on the floor and bug me 24/7 to go out and come in. It's amazing what you take for granted. It's important that you honor him, especially if you have kids.

Sorry for your loss, been there done that a few times, swore up and down wouldnt get another one, but after a few months I broke down and got another dobie. Its almost like losing a kid, you just dont realize how much part of your family they become.

Aww man that sucks, sorry to hear that. We have two dogs, my older one is 7+ years old, hopefully he'll be around a few more years.

I'm soooo sorry wish I could say something to make you feel better, the one good thing is you'll always have thoes great memories for the rest of your life.

My heart goes out to you. It is tough losing a four footed child but, it seems even tougher when you are the one making that decision for them. Know that you did what was best and you loved him enough to give him peace and release from the pain.

I am sorry for your loss. I have two dogs that are 9 and soon to be 7. My heart is going to break when they pass on.

That's the bad side about getting a pet and getting emotionally attached to a pet. A lot of sorrow is felt when the pet dies. I know it feels sad. Good luck, riggo.

I copied and saved pix of your Dobie to remind me to get another one. Beautiful dogs. Very smart too. And yeah, I told myself I wouldn't get another dog for a while and only lasted 3 weeks. I got a Mystery Mix & a French Mastif/Australian Shephard.
