Woot! Rapistburger Suspended for 6 Games
|
So if you are accused of a crime, but not convicted you should be punished?
I'm confused. On the one hand we have people like Roman Polanski, actually convicted of something, getting no punishment, and then we have someone that is NOT convicted, getting a punishment.... ???? / |

saw that earlier, probably a morals clause in his contract:2 cents:

It's a sport. It's not the law. He could still go to prison. But this is about the NFL and their penalty for poor conduct by a player in the NFL. He's lucky he's not a normal person! They'd still be in jail with a huge bail if anything, and nothing but some buttwipe public defender who wants to instantly make a plea bargain. But knowing only what I know about him from the news, I dont think he's bright enough to count a blessing if it pissed on him.
What I mean is..err. I have no strong feelings one way or the other. :) |
lol.. GO CARDINALS!

When the NFL commissioner took over a few years ago he vowed to clean up the league which was starting to be known as the National Felons League. He came up with a conduct statement that he expected all players, coaches, owners etc of the league to follow. If you don't, you get punished. There are other cases where guys were involved in fights, strip club brawls and other things where no chargers were filed, but they were suspended from games and missed pay because the league decided that if you are even involved in that type of thing you are hurting them. This is the second time this guy has had a sex crime investigation against him. From the sounds of it the DA in the case says he believes the guy did it, but that he can't prove it 100% in court. The NFL believes he needs to understand that he shouldn't be putting himself into situations where his conduct could even be questioned so they are punishing him for it. Look at it like this. Say you were a school counselor. You work with kids and help guide them. One Saturday night you go out with some friends to a strip club where you proceed to get hammered, grope a stripper and get in a fight with the security guards. You cause all kinds of chaos and get arrested, but eventually they decide to not press charges against you. The school might look at your behavior and think that this is not how they want someone who is in charge of counseling young people to act and they might take action against you. Same basic thing. The QB of a football team is the face of that team and one of the faces of the league and the NFL isn't very happy when one of the faces of the league is accused of raping a girl in a club bathroom. |
They shipped Santanio for a Twitter war, will they kick Big Bendover to the curb over 2 rape charges?

Can't be convicted if he paid the victim off... Remember Kobe? Did he do it?

An excerpt from Goodell's letter to the douchebag: ?I recognize that the allegations in Georgia were disputed and that they did not result in criminal charges being filed against you. My decision today is not based on a finding that you violated Georgia law, or on a conclusion that differs from that of the local prosecutor. That said, you are held to a higher standard as an NFL player, and there is nothing about your conduct in Milledgeville that can remotely be described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of our fans.? |
Look, it's not like he was dog fighting or something - LIGHTEN UP ALREADY! :1orglaugh

"If he misses all six games it could cost Roethlisberger an estimated $2.8 million,"

his crew let him have some private time in the bathroom with the drunk girl and didn't let anybody pass through, not even her friends who were concerned about her.

Suspension. Hah. May as well not punish him at all. It seems like they think he did something KIND OF wrong, but not really TOO wrong. I mean, if they actually thought they had a rapist on their team, they'd want him out, right?
A six game suspension is a slap on the wrist if they actually believe he did something terrible in that bathroom. :2 cents: |
