Webmasterchecks statement

We very recently became aware of an issue regarding our bank accounts being frozen by the Department of Justice and our attorney?s are working diligently to resolve this issue immediately and correct the error in how the DOJ handled this issue. Unfortunately, the Agent in charge of the case, took this action and then went on Vacation. We believe this is not related to our business practices and, therefore, should not have impacted our valued clients.

We apologize for not informing you of this problem sooner, but we assumed that we would resolve this overnight as we would not have expected to have to wait for someone to return from Vacation. We are certain our business has all necessary licenses and registrations, has followed all rules and regulations to the best of our ability, and we know we will have a favorable resolution to this as soon as we have opportunity to speak with the case agent.

We, and our attorneys, are working as rapidly as possible to resolve this issue. We will work hand and hand with each of you and your affiliates to ensure that we resolve this matter in a timely manner, with as little impact as possible. If you are a client and we have not communicated yet, please use the below link to access our contact information and call or email us, be assured that we will keep our clients updated as we progress through this process.

Can you confirm or deny the reason for the action taken by Justice against you? Was it due to some misunderstanding between you and the govt or is it due to an ongoing investigation of one of your clients?

btw... we are also clients...

Luscious Media 04-21-2010 05:07 PM

So for now we should hold all checks? Ugh!

i thought the DOJ had to tell you WHY they freeze your accounts when they do.

something seems askew here.

Wouldn't there be some kind of warrant?

So you can't tell me if a recently deposited check issued by you is likely to bounce back to my bank?

Fat Panda 04-21-2010 05:31 PM

Good luck, nothing concerning the US Government nor the US DoJ gets handled overnight much less a couple months or years...

Sly 04-21-2010 05:31 PM

Suspend a company's operations and then go on vacation. Lovely.

All hail federal employees.

I think when you get down to it, no government agency actually has to tell you shit. They pretty well have free reign to do whatever the hell they want.

Well considering they froze their accounts Monday I believe it was...it will most likely bounce. :2 cents:

Since when has the DoJ ever needed a reason to freeze someone's assets for even the most extenuating circumstance? Obviously WMC is processing payments for someone they're investigating. Meanwhile, they've been fucked without so much as a kiss.

Good luck, WMC. Hope you can make it out of it - and have a damn good lawyer, I'd like to see my fucking taxes go to some good use for a change.

They do. You dont just show up one day and not have access to your accounts (Ive been through it at a company I worked for)

That being said, as much as you all WANT to know the details of whats going on....and there is nothing leagally to keep WMC from telling you why this happened, they are smart to keep quiet. For them, there is no benefit from sharing it with people any sooner than it will get out on its own.

It wont make your checks cash any faster. It just quenches everyones thirst for the drama. Just trust they are handling it and cross your fingers

There was already a person posting here reporting their check bounced, so I would say yes, if you deposited this week expect a bounce.

They froze the accounts Monday and we're finding out now?

That's lovely. Not like anyone might have deposited any checks in between Monday and today.

MaximX 04-21-2010 05:40 PM

Wow that sucks. Hope you get your bank account back.

Precisely. Before the lynch mob starts and more speculation and rumors start, lets all remember how many of us have been dealing with them and receiving checks from them for years like clockwork w/ no issues.

Anyone here that knows them know they are good, honest people and should be as confident as i am that they are working diligently to resolve all this and get everything taken care of for us all as soon as possible. Just like they always have anytime there was any sort of issue what so ever with their services.

I understand every one is concerned, upset, whatever but lets give them a chance to sort this out before the mob gets out the torches and pitchforks.

:2 cents:

The bounce itself is not what bothers me. Trying to cash a check on an account that the DOJ has closed down does.

I don't want my bank account connected to whatever is going on.

OY 04-21-2010 05:43 PM

Best of luck guys. Hope it is sorted out soon.

Ive been through it. And it was well after the PA was signed in to law. Im not saying you are wrong, they may have the ability to do so, but standard operating proceedure when freezing assets includes filings that are given to the parties involved. Believe me...they Know EXACTLY why their accounts are frozen. Especially if its been 4 days :)

Nicky 04-21-2010 05:55 PM

This kinda sucks. Hope It get's sorted fast.

FrozenJag 04-21-2010 05:57 PM

Just recieved an email from Juggcash saying not to cash any checks as they use webmaster checks. Sucks because I have around 500 dollars sitting here from WC that was going to the bank tomorrow. I guess not now. :x

I hope like hell this gets cleared up quickly but most things that have to do with the government are far from speedy. Im just wondering what is going to happen to the 4 or 5 programs I promote that use WC. Am I going to keep recieving checks but just cant cash them? Or wtf is going to happen?

FlexxAeon 04-21-2010 06:00 PM

even if said agent went on vacation i'd think there was someone else there with authority to resolve the issue. especially if it was done in error.

as much as i don't 100% trust the gub-ment, it would be quite negligent to leave it all in the hands one agent who's on a beach sippin' pina coladas while you rot in limbo.

:2 cents: literally. i have no webmasterchecks at stake here

st0ned 04-21-2010 06:09 PM

Thanks for the official response. I have been watching GFY all day to try and see the outcome of this. I guess I will hold on to my WC checks for a while (hopefully not too long).

riddler 04-21-2010 06:13 PM

how much is brazzers paying you guys to be quiet?

buck30 04-21-2010 06:32 PM

Vacation. Huh. sounds like the government.

Good luck you guys.

babymaker 04-21-2010 06:39 PM

this biz sux more and more everyday :(

V_RocKs 04-21-2010 06:52 PM

Well... If the investigation were for one of their clients, the DOJ would NOT freeze WMC accounts. They would send them a legal order to give the DOJ the funds in question. It's a constitutional thingy...

So the investigation is of WMC.
