Classic American Candy Bar Poll - 20 Bars - Choose Your Favorite
http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...Bars_large.jpg
Since my next door neighbor as a kid owned a jobbing company.. candy and cigs wholesale supply, and just for shits and giggles, :) lets see what classic American candy bar is most popular among this worldly crowd. Here are 20 different classic American candy bars. Choose your favorite bar. (1 bar only, anon, never ending poll) Represent! http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...rs-300x270.jpg |
As Wolfman Jack said in American Graffiti to Richard Dreyfuss (who was all worried about the future) "Relax, have a popsicle" (candy bar)
:) Then you can go back to your web job refreshed (and slightly nauseated) with good old American Corn Syrup, Sugar (maybe) and the newest thing, Palm Kernal Oil. Yeah the bars arent what they were I guess. For the record i chose the Mallo Cup. Most of you don't even remember them. There was the Mallo Cup, Peanut Butter Cup and Smoothie made by Boyer Candy Co. Each one had a card with points, 1, 5, 10 , 25, 50, 100 couple and the rare 500 pointer which is how many points you needed to get 10 bars sent to you. Yes in those days a bar was a bar. :) Maybe I should of let this poll expire. lol NONSENSE! Have a popsicle (a bar) and think. |

Snickers is in the houuuuuuuuse! Lotza guys, especially love Snickers. I will say that will get the most pulls on the old vending machine knob. |

Wow we got somebody with taste. They chose a Mars Bar. They are good. Very discriminating and well thought out choices just as you would expect here. :) |

There you go my good person. Just 4u. 30% less fat too. Yes they were a fav of mine too. Who doesnt like caramel! I was there when that came out in about 1972 or so. (Dont hold me to that year) They were good b4 the palm kernal oil was used. Yes I still check the lables on all these. :) This was also b4 the crowns and weight gain too. lol |

A big bar for the little lady. :) I am assuming little lady as I have eaten a few of them myself. A fav cause ya got four bars in one and dont ya always crack em off. :) Of course. What have I started here. All the stoners at 3am on a Sun morning will be in trouble with this thread. lol |
Its all about hanging, chillin and groovin. :) lol
I feel like this song until the next bar appears. Yes I am very easily amused. :) Post any tune you really get off on. |
The only candy bar I have in the house is a Mounds bar.
One of the few American bars with no added oil except what is in the coconut and chocolate naturally. |
I don't eat candy.
The only time a human should eat candy is when he's a kid. |

Candy is just sugar. Which a little is good for you. :) This thread is more about a little fun here in the US at 4am than whether we should eat sugar. :) |

Thanks for not leaving me hanging Almond Joy fanatic. :) Almond Joy to the rescue! Almond Joy is two, two, two nuts in one (or is that Certs, lol ..something like that) I am a pure coconut Mounds guy but I truely respect you for choosing a great American candy bar :thumbsup |
These two songs were playing on a cassette tape I had playing on a Sunday afternoon Valentines Day, Feb 14, 1999.
First: Eric Clapton - Forever Man https://youtube.com/watch?v=bt2qBm4qS4w You'll have to go to Eric's page but the quality is excellent Then the next song came on I had just got home and looked on the board (at that time, i think ynot) and someone said, "is that our Catman" My stomach dropped. Got up and walked into the bathroom in sort of shock. My heart racing. My phone rang two mins later. Dean of Playgal. I was spinning as Hold On played on. I was $50,000 richer (Make that $52,000 richer, Serge and another anon sponsor [maybe I should say who :)] gave me a grand to join the celebration) those were the days my friend, as "hold on, nothings the same" played on. It was the greatest day of my life. And I still love the song. And this business which has always been kind. |

Ahh a Twix lover. Of course. Twix are awesome. They have em 2 for one around here lately. But you have to have limits! :) |
|

Twix followed closely by Resees'
|
Thanks guys for joining in the sillyness. :)
Indeed Chunky is Classic and I missed that one. Most of the real good bars from those days disapeered. This should really be titled Current Candy Bars but it was late. :) I always loved the wrapper but dont really like raisens in chocolate. Although I think they had a couple hard to find variations without raisens. Skor - Yes I have only had that bar a couple times. Very good. Toffee can be great. Kind of like a Heath bar. Those boys got cavities written all over em. :) http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a..._chocolate.jpg Reeses are kind of like Snickers. They can taste damn good. If you have one, maybe two. :) I have a few bad memories here tho.. I had more like 10 :Oh crap http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...MsktrsMain.jpg Now that was a big bar. Kind of surprised and 2 votes too. Got to be a couple real young people. Those bad boys are serious sugar. lol 2 Mountain Dews and one of these and you are ready to paint the house. For about 10 mins. :) http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...hey-almond.jpg Now this is representing. Nice choice. I always remmber the Movie Dragnet from 1967 where the only clue to the murder suspect was a crumpled Hersheys Almond bar wrapper in an ashtray. --- This thread is surprisingly a great diet aid. If we talk about our sugar demons and corporate addiction maybe we can put them down. :winkwink: -- That performance of My Back Pages, as the years go on, may be one of the greatest rock "gathering of talent"and songs of all time. Love it. Probably just my gen of course but, a great song. Nice to see George Harrison bringing up the end of the song. Very nice. Made popular by the Byrds and Roger McGuinn but indeed Dylan wrote it. --- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Back_Pages Bob Dylan wrote "My Back Pages" in 1964 as one of the last songs—perhaps the last song—that he composed for his Another Side of Bob Dylan album. It was recorded on June 9, 1964 and was the last song to be committed to tape for the album. As with the rest of the songs on Another Side, Dylan is the sole musician on the song. One of the song's most famous lines is the refrain: Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now Music critic Robert Shelton has interpreted this refrain as "an internal dialogue between what he once accepted and now doubts." --- OK a lil more punky. This song was almost impossible to find as an mp3 but alas YT had it. Love this. 1979-1980 with the very early punk scene. Me and my bud from small town Minn used to walk Lake and Hennepin in South Minneapolis and enjoy all the pretty punker babes. :winkwink: :thumbsup Another great British group, very high octane |

Nice Call! Zero bars were great. Rare to find and good frozen :thumbsup
http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...cut/payday.jpg Now were talking. This guy's got taste. Payday is the original. Great bar. Perhaps a copycat, Pearson's Salted Nut Roll out of St Paul, Minnesota as well as the Nut Goodie are more regional perhaps but also very good bars. The Nut Goodie is similair to a maple Bun Cluster. Very HQ ingreds for an American bar. :) They may not get any votes. :( But we'll see. --- Suzi's staring back at me on the Desmond Child page |
So, I searched on Google for Candy, and I got this:

http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...ocut/mallo.jpg
We had an old schooler (perhaps) come along and choose a mallo cup. They (Boyer) went out a while ago. Shame too cause they were good. Esp the peanut butter cups.Way better than Reeses. And Smoothies, forget about it. hehe Who bought the smooothies as kids. You had three choices and one nickle. :) So the smoothies didnt get as much action but oooooh they were good. Like a maple peanut butter thing. http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/a...ocut/boyer.png Ann or Nancy? :) I always said Nancy but as I get older I think Ann was very hot also in her early years. long, hawt vid (i seeked i found) |
I like Snickers and peanut butter cups.
