Mac Nerds: Transmit 4 is out!

Been waiting for this for a while. Hopefully Transmit will be closer to being as good as FlashFXP now.

Impressive.

Nice discount for T3 users too.... looks great.

Amputate Your Head 04-27-2010 07:32 AM

Purchased.

It's definitely faster. I did a test sync of 1 client's project repository that normally takes 3 hours. T4 did it it in 1 hour.

Babaganoosh 04-27-2010 08:59 AM

Just bought it too. I wish I had a lot of files to upload now. :D

I love my Panic products. Looks like we'll have to upgrade.

Me too but the slow releases of Coda are making me sweat. I bet code folding won't happen until 2.0 which will probably cost us $.

I've been screwing with espresso from macrabbit - http://macrabbit.com/espresso/ but it just doesn't have the same feel as coda for me but it does do code folding. I love cssedit so I really expected more from espresso.

Ours all get updated by the university. We have to wait to get reimbursed, but they cover most of my software requests and all of my girlfriends.

Holy shit. I've got to get a job like that. That would save me thousands of dollars.

Babaganoosh 04-27-2010 09:44 AM

Well, shit. The new Transmit crashes for me when connecting via SFTP which is a problem. My servers all use SFTP.

Interesting. I just logged into one of mine through SFTP and had no trouble at all. No crashes. Maybe it was just a one-off glitch?

NaughtyRob 04-27-2010 10:01 AM

I use Filezilla works fine. Might check this out though.

Strange. I'm on OS X 10.6.3. It acts like its trying to connect but then it becomes unresponsive and I have to force close. I started pure-ftpd on the server and was able to connect using regular FTP just fine.

Yeah... I'm on 10.6.3 here too. Double check your connection port. I had the wrong port initially for SFTP and it did the same thing.

You're the man!

Every single site that I had where I specified the port had that special character at the end.

Glad I could help.

Got the upgrade, and it's taking a little bit of getting used to. The speed and everything else seems fine. I love the new favorites mounting as "disks." I have to right-click to Refresh now though, and I'm used to hitting the button for that from Transmit 3.x. I'm also used to hitting the back button while navigating, but can't really seem to do that anymore. Just workflow changes I guess that I'll get used to.

Check out TextMate. I was a Coda fan, and now I'm 100% TM. It's awesome.

I have had textmate long before coda and I can't stand it. It won't open files in tabs unless they are part of the same "project." If you open files that haven't been set up as a project then you end up with each file in its own window.

Really, a text editor that can't (or won't) edit files in tabs is useless to me.

I hear what you're saying a small drawback. But all the other great things TM does makes it worth it 100%.

Just got it, I'm in LOVE.

$125 for a text editor is absurd. I loved the demo but it's overpriced.

Kellie 05-01-2010 07:56 AM

Sweet! Downloading it today :D

MacMall has it for $102 but even at $125 its worth every penny.

Sosa 05-01-2010 11:03 AM

Looks like it's time to upgrade.

Rightclick on the toolbar and click Customize Toolbar. You can add refresh, back buttons and anything else by just dragging them onto the toolbar. I had the same problem.
