About this webmasterchecks.com situation

This is maybe the stupiest question ever and probably just my ignorance speaking..

But..

All these funds which has been frozen .. this money doesnt belong to webmasterchecks.com, but all the affiliateprograms using them right?

How can it be legal to freeze a huge number of companies money like this? 1000s of affiliates are being hurt by this

Is there an official statement somewhere where it can be read what is the actual reason of this fund freezing?

It's the government. Once they have you in the cross hairs, they seize everything.

So right now it's in the hands of the lawyers, and the government does not move quickly on anything. So I would not expect a resolution any time soon.

"People" tells me that all this money is to be consider gone now..

How in hell are all the programs gonna pay all this money back to the affiliates? I have $125k+ "frozen" out there via the programs I promote

Moral of the story...don't fuck with the US Government...especially the US DoJ...I don't know what they did but in this world you're GUILTY until proven innocent...

Patriot act makes everything the government makes ok. They don't need reasons anymore, its a wild wild west.

Im sure most programs have their own funds besides what has been funded with WC and will make internal payments or find another solution. It's WC that got their funds frozen, not the programs. I dont think programs have ALL their money with WC, that would be silly, but I could be wrong. For example, when we issue payments thru our fulfillment source (not WC lol), we fund them with a little more than all the payment's grand total just to make sure every payment is covered, etc.

I could be wrong, I dont know exactly how WC operates but that's what I'm hoping will unfold.

I don't know man. That's a pretty big hit. We see sponsors cutting costs right and left. Losing 5-6 figures through no fault of their own, that could take a while to recover from.

I wish everyone the best of luck getting through this.

yeah i agree, smaller programs without backup funds might have a harder time but ive already spoken to a couple of the larger programs we particularly use and they said they're taking care of things this week. Whether or not that holds up remains to be seen..
