Advice needed: how to grow and manage a forum
I have a client that wants to grow a forum.
Any advice or tips appreciated. I have some experience with this and I have found a few articles on the subject but maybe I might find some good tips by asking here. |
bots and drama
|
i forgot trolls
|
I was expecting a few jokes like that but at the same time I wonder if bots/drama/trolls is the way to go. I have seen some forums burn out trying to use this method.

We grew to 1,000's overnight with giveaways of VISA cards.

yes, half joke half truths.
I think contests are a good way to jumpstart a forum. bump |
a bunch of users , multiple posts daily with all registered accounts. Paid posts may be a good solution and after a while expect some human registered users:)

oh I get it, this must be you:
The Whiner - Senseless non-stop fucking whining and complaining like a sour little girl. Have us moan and weep at the most trivial things and irritate the hell out of everyone on the board. Despite this pest of a personality, it can be quite rewarding. Quote:

If you're such an amazing affiliate coach, why don't you make your money on the quiet? It's like "SEO Experts", you guys make me puke. |
hire a community manager who is experienced in growing communities. like meee.

depends on the price. the forum I'm helping to grow is of course in the gambling industry. I think they will have someone working for the forum for a few hours per day so that should be a good start.
keep the tips and comments coming |
