Digital Playground now charges $20 for epass
at least DDF heard the outcry at $4 and lowered it to $2..
But DP is standing strong and saying they are "incurring bank fees" and will now charge $20 for epass...an $18 profit... dont believe me...straight from Farley: Hi. We did just change our policy to a $20 fee for epass. due to excessive bank fees that we've been incurring. The site will reflect the same in the sign up form shortly. A number of affiliates have switched to pay by check for this reason. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause webmasters. Please contact me personally if anyone has questions or needs support. Thanks Regards, Farley Vice President New Media Digital Playground |
trying to ditch epass?
|
Yeah, I received that DDF email last week and was surprised there was not more GFY outrage to be frank. I did see it mentioned a few other places.
I think it's a taste of things to come. :disgust |
If I'd promote them I would drop them right away...
|
funny how a fully digital transaction costs more than paper & ink and postage
|
They're idiots. If 1 webmaster who rakes in like, 2k a month with them decides to leave then they've lost ALL of the extra money they're getting from 'bank fees'.
Really bad move for them. |

They want to sideskirt the method while profiting off of the transition... |

Oh wait... i forgot about all those offshore bankless affiliates that piss and shit single 2k/month revenue sources. |

does anyone make much from them anyway? they hardly seem to have much promo stuff. surly they are more interested in selling there dvd's than there websites. |

Aren't wire transfers way less than that. Maybe they just hate epass. There could be lots of reasons. |

Well,i signup once to that program, and no matter what i way trying,i was not able to login even with lost password function so had to drop them.Looks like that error was handy.
|
20$? ?!??? jez people
|
That's great, wires are now cheaper than epass.

Yea, I got that email too and I wont be pulling links because its just takes too fucking long but the list of sponsors I actively promote just keeps getting smaller, I actually lol'ed when I got this one due to the timing
|
I saw that this morning, was waiting for someone else to post it. =)
Definitely a different way of doing things. I for one know I'd rather pay a WM via ePass than cutting a check. And by the time you add up all the costs associated with checks, you've just spent more than the ePass fee. |
Doesn't seem like the best way to handle it. Why not just say they'll no longer be offering epass at all? And if they have established, trusted affiliates using epass they should make exceptions for them because the $20 fee is crazy.
Maybe they recently got slammed with fraud and this is the reaction... |
I always though epass was cheaper to pay than via check. Not sure why they want to ditch epass.
|
thats not very 'digital' of them at all
|
fucking ridiculous
pure rip-off |
only direct with check

20$ fee |
I love checks! I get to feel it. :)
Epass is so virtual. I only getting to smell it when I pull it from the ATM. |

Seriously... just go... EDIT - Besides.... where in this fucking thread do you see me condoning this action or saying, way to go digital playground...? |

As soon as they pay the "link removal fee" I invoiced them for I'm toasting their links.
|
That e-mail was fucking hilarious. I'm glad I don't actively promote them.
|
any truth a bunch of programs doing this?
|
$20? LOL! Hilarious. One program I wont push.
|
I'm trying to figure out what these excessive bank fees could possibly be that they have and nobody else does.
|
load of bollocks. DP;)

Now if a company is willing to send me a wire for free, i'll be glad to accept it. But I think you have to be an idiot to pay $20 - $30 to receive your money. Do the math, even if it is bi weekly, that is still 26 times a year. Now say you promote 5 different companies. I don't care how much you make if you want to piss away $2,000 - $3,000 a year in just fees so you can collect your money a couple days earlier, then you are an idiot. I don't know how hard it is to cash checks in other countries, I am speaking as someone living in the US. It is rather simple here. open mail box. open enevelope, next time i pass the bank (which is almost every other day) spend a couple minutes in drive though, deposit check, save a couple thousand dollars. Doesn't seem like rocket science to me. |
