Taliban plant bomb in new york city

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100502/...quare_car_bomb

CAIRO, Egypt ? The Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the failed car bomb attack in Times Square in New York City.

In 1 minute video allegedly released by the Pakistani Taliban, the group says the attack is revenge for the death of its leader Baitullah Mehsud and the recent killings of the top leaders of al-Qaida in Iraq. Images of the slain militants are shown as an unidentified voice recites the message. English subtitles are at the bottom of the screen.

The video was uncovered Sunday by the U.S.-based SITE intelligence Group, which monitors militant websites

And you believe this shit? :1orglaugh

There's no "Al-Qaeda in Iraq".. but. Believe whatever you guys want. :thumbsup

I've heard way too many stories about "bad intel" or blatantly false intel from friends who do some pretty crazy ops in Iraq/Afghanistan to believe any of this bs. :2 cents:

Not ...

They can claim it but it's probably someone in the gov trying to continue justifying the current wars.

free tibet!

ottopottomouse 05-02-2010 12:51 PM

It's theirs if they gave advance warning of it like the IRA used to do in London.

Otherwise it is just a bit of free publicity off the back of someone elses bomb both for The Pakistani Taliban and the SITE intelligence Group.

FrozenJag 05-02-2010 12:54 PM

I highly doubt it was Taliban or whatever. If it was they wouldn't have failed unfortunetly. Glad everyone is ok.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh and people believe this shit?

we must need to pre justify some upcoming attacks on pakistan...

if terrorists want to create terror in this country, all they need to do is have 30 guys in 30 cities walk into local malls with ak-47's and open fire..

its funny to me that the govt would have you believe that people who are used to the ideology of guerilla warfare would not employ smaller scale, easy to execute tactics.. :2 cents:

its the medias way of manipulating people to justify war

RaiderCash_Dominik 05-02-2010 01:33 PM

BS. Bomb made out of fireworks. Yea, right. Taliban doesn't use fireworks, they use TNT. Lots of it.

BobG 05-02-2010 01:53 PM

they do love propane tanks

PixelBucks 05-02-2010 01:57 PM

I was watching it live at like 4am this morning and they said it was 10 gallons of gas, some wiring, timers, and some consumer grade fireworks. lol.

Doesnt really sound like professionals but I havent watched the news since so maybe they have updated more. I just figured an organized group would have had some big shit.

the (failed) terroist attacks in 2007 in london and glasgow used propane bottles and petrol. i think they know that trying to buy fertiliser, amonia etc for traditional bombs raises too many red flags nowadays with the intelligence services. i reckon they're desperate to pull something off in the UK/US and have the manpower to do it, but struggle to get hold of the nessarcary materials without raising suspicion and are resorting to what we're seeing now.

Jarmusch 05-02-2010 02:40 PM

I doubt the taliban would fail this badly.

you do realize that Brokeback Mountain does not represent the cowboy lifestyle...

its not all lazy days swimming nude in the rivers and then having a steamy ass rape session in a tent...

although if anyone could sniff out some hot man love in cowboy country, it would be you... :thumbsup

I'll wait and see what the FBI says. Of course they will take responsibility they want to think they did whether or not they did. There are cameras on every F'ing square inch of Times Square so the FBI and NYPD will sort it out I'm sure.

fatfoo 05-02-2010 04:18 PM

The acts of violence by people towards others are unfortunate.

NaughtyRob 05-02-2010 04:22 PM

Good thing those coward bastards failed at the bomb.

Lots of people claim responsibility of stuff they didn't do. Also what I don't get they sure claim credit for a lot of FAILED plots. Not exactly a selling point to recruits. "Joins us and die for nothing in a failed plot!"

mayabong 05-02-2010 04:53 PM

Excuse me if I post these too much but they mean alot.

kane 05-02-2010 05:24 PM

I have a feeling this is just them claiming responsibility for something they didn't do in hopes of it rallying their supporters.

jollyperv 05-03-2010 12:51 AM

This sounds more like the shoddy work of a disgruntled person of below average intelligence lashing out after being laid off.
