Paris France
I know this ain't trip advisor, however I am going there soon so I am looking for some first hand experiences and recommendations like where to eat, drink, party etc. preferably where ripping off tourists isn't the main interest.

Don't get a hotel near the Champs-Élysées unless you wanna pay through the nose.
|
It isn't the right city for party, but maybe I was at the wrong places. Other than the history and atmospehere, its pretty boring with not much service and things to do.

Do try and speak a little French though. Even if it is *just* please and thank you. The French are proud of their language, and find it a little rude if you just bowl over there shouting orders like you would in the States. Different country, different language, different culture. The service is brilliant, if you are polite to them. If you are a rude tourist, you will get treated like one. Simple. All of the different arrondisments (areas) have a different vibe. The red light area is very cool and groovy. The student area is cool. Depends what you are after... |

And I never said they weren't polite. I was talking in english and met mostly nice people, so no complaints there. |
lived there for 4 months and some of the best months of my life. You are going to be paying alot where ever you are.
Obviously the closer to famous monuments the more you pay. Try out the 14th aridisoment, its real paris and although tourists not so many. Pigalle is always worth a visit too. |

And the bars are so cool, you don't really need a club. imho. |

Besides the center.. I don't know much of what to do. The tourist thing comes to mind. Out of the city.. maybe some vineyard or something

I go there often, I always stay in the 8th, because everything is close, but yes it's expensive. Last time I went to bradford hotel, not bad, 160€ per night
But you have no choice to go to the better pizza in europe, Napolitano, 18 Franklin Roosevelt, open monday to friday, from 7pm with reservation. Contact me if you need more information, kkou366 on gmail |
