Anyone have a contact at the IRS?

All thanks to TurboTax (never using this again!) I had to file an amendment to my 2008 and 2009 returns last week. Had a CPA file them, over night express mail on Friday morning, but now the mortgage company is saying they need this 4506T (transcripts) before they can process the loan.

Its been one thing after another, but I'm not surprised the way my life goes...

So what I need to do is plead and beg with someone from the IRS (I believe its the Kansas City office) to process my amended returns ASAP so that I can get this transcripts sent out. I was supposed to close in less than 3 weeks and its not looking so good now :Oh crap

If you have any connection or anyone to call other than their general line, hit me up... there is a cash prize involved :thumbsup

Yea, that's a uphill battle even with a hookup! Good Luck! :pimp

your return is stuck in a pile somewhere, it probably won't get processed for another 6 months... hook up or not, you are probably screwed :(

oh, and what problems did you have with TurboTax?

lazycash 05-03-2010 10:25 AM

Asap and the IRS are definitely not synonymous. What area did you feel turbo tax messed up your returns?

Someone on this board that actually wants the attention of the IRS. That's a new one. Be careful what you wish for. ;)

Somehow it created a schedule A and schedule C for my tax returns last year, but only a schedule C for 2008 (which is correct). Not sure how that got messed up, but the mortgage company would not take the tax return with both A & C.

Also, there is a part when filing out for business deductions regarding buying and selling of vehicles. It can not determine if the vehicle you purchased was new or old (doesn't say) so when you put in the info, it assumes its new. One of the underwriters caught this and said it needs to be fixed.

In any case, after spending over an hour on the phone with Intuit, they admit there are faults and sometimes errors but then told me if I have such a detailed tax return then I should seek the advice of a CPA

I don't think I would ever use one of those automated tax programs if I was self-employed. I pay a lot to get my taxes done, but it's worth every penny. They save me so much money.

I'm sure you already know this now, but in the future I would suggest that. ;-)
