Steve Jobs on Flash: Who is really "open"?
Source: http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
Quote:
Adobe?s Flash products are 100% proprietary. They are only available from Adobe, and Adobe has sole authority as to their future enhancement, pricing, etc. While Adobe?s Flash products are widely available, this does not mean they are open, since they are controlled entirely by Adobe and available only from Adobe. By almost any definition, Flash is a closed system.

Okay, so Flash is "closed" technologywise and, as Jobs implies, controlwise. But isn't the Apple app store closed controlwise as well? Anyone who had 'sexy apps' taken off during the past year would hardly argue that Apple is an "open" system
Is this really all about CONTROL and doesn't this all just play out in Android's ( and other possibly more OPEN systems') favor?
