RichCash. Fix your join form. The affiliate id gets changed.

RichCash,

I can't send traffic to your site because there's a glitch. You see, when a user clicks the join form, the affiliate id 2105237 gets changed to 2074830 as can be seen in the source code.

http://americankittens.com/track/2105237

Before you assume it to be cache or cookies, rest assured that this was looked into from other locations and systems prior to posting this.

Please fix it.

Thanks

Dirty Dane 05-04-2010 10:02 AM

I tried and it gave me 2105237 at join page.

That makes you 2 out of 9 people that helped confirm this with me on another forum.

Same id though.

Bump for awareness.

Jdoughs 05-04-2010 10:12 AM

Also confirmed here, its switched it to this on join.

Code:

<input type=hidden name=ccbill_referer value='2074830'>

Tom_PM 05-04-2010 10:13 AM

I tried it by pasting the url into firefox and going there and clicking on Join and viewing source and I see your correct ID with no refering URL.

Did everyone test it the same way? Or did they click the link from somewhere?

Tom_PM 05-04-2010 10:16 AM

This time I clicked it from this thread using IE 6.

name=ccbill_referer value='2105237'><input type=hidden name=referingURL value='http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=966751'

Good luck figuring it out.

I copy/pasted it from here to FF as well. And clicked to the join page, the view src showed the other code.

TeenCat 05-04-2010 10:43 AM

opera here and ccbill_referer 2074830, oops ...

spacedog 05-04-2010 10:44 AM

I did both FF click and FF paste, clearing cookies and cache before each.. to make sure it wasn't my pc, I cleared cookies and cache again, rebooted and did it again only to get same results, so I asked on another forum for users to check it out for me and 1 person got my id, all the others got the other id.

TheDA 05-04-2010 03:14 PM

Is that their reply verbatim? Or have you edited parts of it out?

No way am I keeping links up based on this!!!

Why are loads of people getting the same, incorrect aff id, it's not likely that we have all visited another site with that id in it and it's a cache issue is it? That has to be hard coded into something their end doesn't it?

LoveSandra 05-05-2010 01:23 AM

bump 4 more

Yep, verbatim via email.

I responded back advising him that several other webmasters in other locations on different systems, ips, etc we're all getting the same aff id switch, etc and included a link to this thread, advising him that yes, there indeed IS a problem.

This is the answer that come back to that.

here.. when i signed on to the VPN i use.. and also used google chrome privacy mode i got your affiliate id..

if you want.. you can contact ccbill.. i know they have had a lot of problems with WMS.. and that is the main reason we went back to the NON-wms system

So, I guess I should email [email protected] and see what they say

So is this - http://americankittens.com/track/2105237 - a WMS based link code you are using or is it part of their own tracking script? I'm unfamiliar with the structure of a WMS tracking link.

I'd try and contact CCBill and see what they say.

I assume it to be their own system as I didn't sign up for a wms with ccbill which provides an affiliate a NEW and SINGLE id that's used with all programs using the wms system.

If that is the case then I can take a guess at what CCBill is gonna say.

It could well be something along the lines of 'we are only able to investigate the integrity of links that are structured using our standard link codes'.

u-Bob 05-05-2010 08:01 AM

tried it twice and got the correct id (2105237)

SmokeyTheBear 05-05-2010 08:13 AM

tried on 2 diff browsers , got correct id. I remember going over this issue with someone else regarding ccbill links and it turned out everything was kosher.

on a sidenote , when i visited the link , the first 2 times it said the site was dead. had to refresh 3 times.

It is of course possible they are changing the affilid randomly when there is no referrer

would like to know why several other people got the same wrong affil id though, if it was ip tracking the other people should either have correct affilid or a totally different one.

Interesting. I've just gone through the same click scenarios as I did earlier in the thread and everything is working as it should now.

If I try a number of different valid affiliate ID's, the source code shows the correct one each time I switch between them.

What's changed???
