situation: cop wants to hang out with me and friends, at my place but isnt cool
 

so here is the situation.

one of the neighbours is friends with a cop...and not some lowly cop in a car....some high up muckity muck, in charge of high profile criminals or WHATEVER


anyway, he is a good guy, i like him and his wife....when we see them at our mutual friends we always have a great time...good laughs etc

so, now they have expressed interest in hanging out with us and friends at our place

however, sometimes at our place people feel the need to drink and smoke the herb if you will


no big deal adults, having fun etc


but mr big shot..has made it known he will bust anyone he sees smoking pot..lol


what the fuck is his deal? hey can i come and hang out and party, but im going to resort to my 9-5 job half way through a bottle of whiskey because im a fuckin asshole.

i know some other police officers...they are around to see people smoke some reefer, they look the other way, its party for fuck sake.

anyway, word to the wise.

dont trust people just because you have a goodtime with them...some people will be cocks to you no matter what


size people up, and if all else fails ask them if they have any to bring to the party..lol

Easy solution.

Ask the cop to bring the weed. Then if he want's to bust you for smoking it you can turn him in for supplying it. :winkwink:

In his defense, if it was made public that a high-level cop was partying with pot smokers I'm sure it would cause quite the hub-bub and he could possibly lose his job. It's a sticky situation for all... but that's his problem, not yours. He doesn't get to come to your parties!

If your other friends want to hang out too explain the situation and if truly your friends they will leave the weed home

Coming from a cop on the street that statement is one thing, coming from someone who wants to come to your parties it is QUITE another.

I see that statement as a kind of threat. You say you like the guy, so maybe it's not really like that. But if it is, I wouldn't be hanging out with this guy ANYwhere, much less my own house.

I know around here, they have regular drug tests, and polygraph tests every couple of years...
he probably actually would lose his job if he didn't bust you... probably just his asshole way of warning you to be careful...

i know a couple completely crazy guys i went to high school with who became cops. it horrified me that people like this were given so much power over others. cops can essentially do whatever they want to anyone at any time.

one 'officer' i know told me how he shook down known drug dealers in a nearby city where i don't even think he was allowed to arrest people. he wore those gloves with sand in them and did his weekly collections by lining up the money guys and blasting any of them in the face with those gloves who didn't have his protection fee. yes, they are drug dealers - but the cop has ceased to be a cop when he starts doing things like the mafia. don't even get me started in what they do to prostitutes.

and this type of shit is extremely common.

as much as the people here who smokes weed thinks it is no big deal, as far as the law in the US is concerned its a little higher up the list than parking tickets and speeding.

most cops in unmarked cars while on duty wont stop you for speeding. However weed is a big enough crime that on duty or off unless you know the cop real well or he doesn't give a shit about his job, he is going to bust you for it.

speeding is a far FAR bigger public safety issue than some people smoking cannabis in their own home. now if they drive under the influence, that's another story.

and yes, it is still a federal crime to possess, cultivate, traffic etc cannabis. but at least in my state, you can get a card for 70 bucks a year and go to any of the 1000s of dispensaries that have popped up in the last couple years. you can grow it, sell it, smoke it legally. some localities have tried to set local ordinances, but those don't hold up in court, because the law (in effect since the mid 90s) says nothing about limits.

if a cop busted me for having weed in my car today, i would win the case without a fight. and more states are doing this all the time.

im not debating if weed is a big deal or not, I am explaining why a police officer thinks it is (because of our laws) whether you agree with it or not. Im guessing you need a medical reason to have weed which in that case it would be legal and fine. What is being talked about here is people doing it illegally.
