SEO - how to get "X hours/days ago" to appear in google results
Could someone please enlighten me how to get a custom coded, non-blog site to get that updated X hours/days ago mark at google serps? It is becoming more important now that on the left side people can easily filter results by date. So if google doesn't have that last updated stamp about your site, you won't get filtered by date traffic.

Build a sitemap, submit the sitemap upon every site change/update you make.
Establish a routine of constantly updating pages/content and calling the spider every time you update (by updating the sitemap and pinging them) and they will come to find the new content, and update accordingly. I have a couple sites now that have their cache's updated live in google, literally 3-4 minutes after updating them. And this is how I do it. |

I am actually doing that already. My sitemap however doesn't have those last modified stamps, I just do it when I add a new page to the site (a couple of existing ones do change at the same time though). I guess I'll have to experiment putting those <lastmod></lastmod> tags. Do you use them?
