Bought Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium and waiting for it to ship, who has it already and how do you like the new Dreamweaver and PS?

I can't imagine it's worth it unless you're a full blown designer full time

and that girl looks like Taylor Swift in your avatar :thumbsup

PornMD 05-09-2010 11:12 AM

I'd like to know as well...considering getting it even though design/dev isn't a major thing I do anymore. PS looked pretty sweet based on the "smart fill" or whatever it was called.

Slappin Fish 05-09-2010 11:25 AM

One thing I fucking hate about adobe...

..is how they think it is ok to ASS RAPE their non-US customers.

I'm not getting the Suite. I upgraded my Premiere Pro from CS4 to CS5 last week.

AWESOME. I also picked up a new NVidia Quadro FX4800 Graphics card which turns Premiere Pro CS5 into a monster! Cut rendering time down like a motherfucker. A 25 minute vid with smart blurs on it took 2 1/2 to 3 hours to render down to H264 mp4 on CS4 on my dual quadcore 64 bit 16 gb of ram machine.

That same video now renders in about 30 minutes with the power of the GPU in the FX4800 card.

My next step will be to upgrade my Photoshop CS4 to CS5

The only thing about Premiere Pro is...it is now a 64 bit native program in CS5 (which is fantastic), BUT all your 3rd party plugins won't work with it. I'm waiting on a couple of companies to get their plugins up to speed (should be within a week or two)

And you'll have to remake any custom sequences that you have as well. So it's kinda like starting over. But after you spend a few hours getting everything re-done in your settings...it blows away CS4. And CS4 was pretty damn good.

Photoshop runs way faster on a MacPro with it's 64bit compatibility. Way faster!!!

Hey could y'all please send me the instructions on how to edit video and photos with notepad? :1orglaugh

jk, I know you're referring to Dreamweaver. Must suck though to have to sit with a CSS book and look up different pieces of code everytime you want to do something with some complicated css and just using notepad.

Can't wait to play with this... is the GPU acceleration on mpeg rendering only or does it carry through to other codecs? My mpeg accelerator on my last computer was a god sent before seeing what Cuda and GPU acceleration can do..

It works with all of them as long as you have the correct NVidia graphics card. It's a hardware thing.

I bought upgrade to After Effects, but can't use it until a couple of plugin-makers update to 64 bit versions. These are plugins that I use in every project and can't live without.

Why is that odd, Elli????? A girl gets turned on, her clit gets hard...... I guess what's odd is calling it a boner.

TheSenator 05-10-2010 01:21 PM

I am happy with my CS4....

Not gonna upgrade until the Torrent community comes out with a solid educational copy for evaluation.

fucking adobe over [sea] pricing

PenisFace 05-10-2010 01:30 PM

I havent opened photoshop in ages :( I doubt I'll ever purchase a newer version, I thinks. Although I've heard there is some kind of "smart" technology that makes expanding picture's borders, or completely deleting stuff from images, nearly instant.

Smart fill I think they call it? Either way, I've seen some examples of it and holy moly, it looks fun. Someone was expanding NASA images from Mars. :P
