SEO question regarding number of pages indexed in SE

hey,

What are your thoughts on the value of hardlinks with sites that only have 1 page and sites that have lots e.g. 10,000 pages indexed in search engines.
Are the hardlinks from sites with more pages more important/better for SEO or does it not matter since they come from the same domain anyway?

thanks :)

bump, someone must know the answer :)

Depends totally on the site doing the linking and Juice flow, I'd forget about site seo stats and look at the page thats linking to you.

Seo for adult is pretty much a waste of time now though, traffic off the engines crap cos as soon as they find a search engine... they have unlimited free content, and for the time it takes to get the traffic you can make way more bank, more easily with non adult programs.

It totally depends on the power of the page and how many outbound links that page has. You'll find it much better to have a link from a PR 1 page that has NO other outbound links than you will from a PR 3 link with 50 outbounds.

Google assigns a 'power' to each page on your website fyi, it's completely based on how many people link to that page hence why people prefer links from homepages (because they're most likely to be linked to)

Obviously the site that links to you with more relevant content (ie. 10,000 pages) is better for you ... if the search engines can read it. Some of these huge automated sites have no SE value though, because the whole thing is built on/with javascripts.

You'd have to provide more details...

I totally don't agree. Especially if you're anyway niche-oriented. Google SERPs and image search is a great source of traffic and it converts...

:D

What types of products? I'm not doubting you, just curious what it is that's selling for you in mainstream w/traffic coming from your google pictures?

BaldBastard 05-11-2010 09:52 AM

It's not so much what products, as to what train of thought you need when looking for keywords.
You could do a run of sites say for Girls in Glasses, or you could do one for Eye Glasses
.. If someones looking for girls in glasses.. they proberly want a wank. If someone is looking for glasses, there proberly looking to compare products, find new products etc

Girls in glasses might convert... but its not pay per click is it ;)

So try and think of images people are looking for, when they are trying to get more info on a product... not just get it for free.

I think maybe my query was unclear although the answers so far are good. I'll try another way,

Say I have a website A and 2 other websites link to it, websites B and C.
Ok so ignoring all factors such as PR, incoming and out going links etc as both sites are exactly the same.
If website B is just 10 pages
if website C is 10,000 pages
the link to my website A is sitewide link on both.

Is the link from website C more valuable as it has more pages?

Hope this is more clear :)

Hmm, I dunno. girls in glasses on a $25-$30 PPJ, vs PPC ?

1,000 clicks at $.02 is $20 vs. say a 1:1,000 ratio (easily attainable with SEO traffic) and a $30PPJ

I guess that's ultimately my question. Using your example for glasses, what mainstream programs paying for PPC are that much better than promoting a "girls in glasses" adult niche site? If we do an apples to apples comparison, I'd like to see how it's 10x more in mainstream. Again, don't take me the wrong way, I'm not saying you're *wrong*, just interested in you showing me how I am, or rather, what I am doing wrong.
