Quick tip to save you money
Renew as many of your domains that you can before July 1st, when the prices for .com and .net rise 7% and 10% roughly. If you own 1000s of names, this will save you a nice chunk of cash.
|
yep. good advice man.
|
10% on 47 renewals is a lot, thanks for the heads up.
|
thanks for this

it grew every year in the past 4 years or so.
aren't they planning to stop ? those greedy fuckers. |
thanks man interesting ... and one more hint ... if you own thousands of domains and you have them on autorenew, take a weekend once per year and do the renew by yourself with some promo code, you can get the price lowered about 2usd per domain! that is also nice imho :winkwink:

Thanks for the tip :thumbsup

Picking right domain registrar saves more.
Godaddy (if you're not scared of horror stories) have 6,99$ + 0,18$ icann fee .com .net ..... TRANSFERS with this coupon. You can move your domains there easily for a bargain. http://www.webmasterinter.net/2010/0...com-transfers/ Or if you wish to pay slightly more to sleep well at night, go for Moniker: http://www.webmasterinter.net/?s=moniker Enjoy. |
Fabulous.com's Transfer Ins are only $7.16 which is just under GoDaddy's Transfer In at $7.17 ($6.99+$0.18), and you can sleep just fine. GoDaddy's $6.99 for .net, but you only pay $5.28 for those with Fabulous.
|
thanks for the tip, I'll check out how many .com's I have to renew.

That sounds like a lot of drama, especially considering namecheap still does 6.99 transfers in... or is that 500 domain + wire transfer just for retail customers and is easy to get waived with a quick phone call? |

Good option. But Godaddy for me is fine as I can get 6,99 renewals almost anytime so no need to move it all around. .NET are out of my radar as they usually use lots of returning traffic to .COM variant. |

Good Advice bro! and thanks for giving a tip ahead
|
Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup
|
On the flip side it is also a good time to let domains you will never get benefit out of go.
|
good advice.thanks
|
Thanks! Please feel free to bump this thread closer to July 1st too. :thumbsup

Good tip.
If you buy beer by the case, it's cheaper. Drinking one less beer per day will save you around $2 x 7 = $14 per week, or $700 per year. You will still be dull. |
Another way to save money is not to buy 1000 domains.
|
you are right, bump.
p.s. I have been letting a lot drop lately. I have too fucking many. |

From memory Verisign are allowed to increase the wholesale price of .COM's by up to 7% per year for the next 10 years, or something like that. No surprises that they increase by the maximum amount permitted every year... |
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that. :)
