should I keep my domains splitted to 2 domain registrars ?

currently have a few at goDaddy and the others at NameCheap
I was about to transfer all the domains to NameCheap but now I'm thinking about not putting all eggs in the same basket

I would have thought as long as they are run from the same server then there should not be a problem which registrars you use.

Zester 05-19-2010 12:09 PM

I mean if NameCheap for example goes belly up all of a sudden

FlexxAeon 05-19-2010 12:12 PM

i have domains across 6-7 registrars and counting. count your blessings

as far as the eggs/basket thing thats probably a good way to look at it. neither of those companies will be going belly up anytime soon, but i have heard 'horror' stores re: godaddy and porn domains

same here.I use 3 domain register.dont like to put all egs into one basket

I have the ones that I don't really use at godaddy. The important ones are at namecheap and dynadot (I had best possible experience with dynadot, I vote them best regaistrar)

don't put all eggs in one basket :thumbsup

there IS an issue about managing, when it's only one registrar it a lot easier

true. i have some really nice domains that i literally "forget" about. i have to remind myself to go thru all my accounts to see which is the next site i will build

I use a few registrars.

I try to avoid Godaddy, but it seems like I always have 4-6 domains there at any one time.

Namecheap is good, I have about a hundred domains there, and I don't think they're in danger of going out of business or being shut down.

Dynadot and Moniker are good too, I have almost all of my domains with namecheap/dynadot/moniker :thumbsup

As long as they're not interlinked, it doesn't matter.

NextBigTube 05-19-2010 04:14 PM

i use godaddy for all domains.

Moniker is my favorite basket.

:)

every fucking time I register a godaddy domain I have to be 100% concentrated so that I don't buy webhosting for 10 years by mistake .... where is that "cut-the-bullshit, -take-the-money-and-register-the-fucking-domain-already" button ?!
