Anyone Tested Opening new window vs. direct click through?
 

Has any one tested out which converts better?

Opening the pay site in a new window so your page is still open vs. a direct link?

One one hand if the surfer does not like the paysite you lose them with a direct link on the other they might want to keep looking at sites you list as opposed to buying from the tour if you open in a new window.

Any hard numbers on conversions?

My links to sponsors always open in the same window. The purpose of having any kind of affiliate site is to get views to your sponsor. If they click, your site has served its purpose. Most surfers are savvy enough to use the back button if they want to.

At some point I'll have to run an actual test...I almost always open in a new window and I think most savvy users do it anyway I know when I surf I have 20 windows open most of the time. Maybe I'll build me next site with out it and see. Thanks for the input though.

A new window opened has a higher chance of being closed.

Open a new tab if you must. But not a new window. I hate that shit.
