Radar-detectors in the USA?
 

I have a small question the the US drivers. Is it allowed to use sped radar-detectors in your country?

In some states it's illegal, in others it's legal. I'm sure the googles or bings of the world have a breakdown by state somewhere.

edit: according to googles results:
The use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicle is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC. and while on military bases.

I have used mine in about half of our 50 states with no issues.

Varies from state to state.... and some states do not let certain kinds of police use radar.... It's all different from area to area.

Thanks for the explanation. But I have another question then. Do radar-detectors sell freely in the USA? I.e. can you go to the nearest car-accessory shop and buy it?

Yes you can go to Best Buy or almost any electronics store and buy a radar detector. Some places even sell radar jammers.

Walmart is rolling back the prices, just found a radar detector i bought about 3 years ago for $37, great price.
