Why you're leaving money on the table daily ... read this
http://returnmyjedi.com/2010/05/split-test-that-shit/
Helpful to affiliates, membership site owners, all GFYers. Let me know if I'm on the right track with the info I'm writing for you guys...and any requests for topics to be covered! |
You know how the Jedi can raise ships, structures and physical objects by moving their hand? I think it can't be done it in real life. However, by moving your hand in real life you can control other people who will move physical objects with physical labour - which is even more powerful.

bullshit:)

Yeah, actually, that's my week 6 article - raising ships, buildings, etc.
|
good article, thanks for posting this-
|
lol !!! i really like the fatfoo reply. that douche is a very skilled writer
|
My only concern with your method of splitting (meta refresh/redirect) is that it could affect your SE rankings. I think you'd be better off creating an array of filenames and include()ing a random one - that way the page and site structure remains identical, only the content changes (slightly)

That's actually a good idea that I hadn't thought of in the past (when you're so used to doing something one way, you kind of get tunnel vision). I'll add it in a bit - with some code. Thanks! |
Great Read! Thank you.

I'm getting a code written for me to A/B (or 'split') testing from Woj. To begin, it'll be a simple A/B script, sort of like how you outlined, but more PHP-based. Yay for testing!!!

Nah I just looked at my table, there's no money on it.

:1orglaugh :zzwhip
|
UPDATE: I added a simple PHP code that uses the PHP Include function instead of the metarefresh. Should help with the Search Engine concerns.
Hope this helps :) P.S. finishing another article tonight. |
good info, always a good idea
|
Nice thanks for the PHP script. When I tweak my sites I definitely need to be more patient. I change something and if I don't see results I start switching it after only a couple hours. :1orglaugh I'll try your idea and leave it for a week! :thumbsup

A week is about average. It really depends on a few things : the quality and quantity of your traffic...if you're buying shitting traffic, you'll undoubtedly get shitty results.
I'll admit though that I've had times where I'll change something out after just a day because the numbers are SO BAD on the second page that a week won't do shit. You pretty much just want to give the second page a chance to prove that the improvement (or decrease) in sales is of Statistical Significance - that it wasn't by chance or some outside unpredictable factor...that it truly is better, or worse. Sometimes that's a day, sometimes it really takes a week (or more). |
Great post. Mind if I repost it to the resource sites I post to?
Also, hit me up if you'd like to swap links with our blog http://www.highrevenue.com Webmaster Resource Blog |
