Game 1

What an opening first game. SCOREFEST of the highest order. 6-5 Chicago in a run and gun shootout.

What a joy to behold. :D

For the record I selected Chicago as my team of the playoffs, some 6 weeks ago as posted on several boards. That means I am a GOD among sports predictors, as in God am I good. Could have went with the powerhouse Caps or Pens, but nope, went with the dark horse Blackhawks (largely because of their Captain, Winnipeg boy Jonathan Toews)

Anyway game 1 goes to Chicago.

I like the Flyers as well and won't be disappointed if they win the series, but for now it's GO BLACKHAWKS!

What an opening game to what is sure to be a wild series.



After this I'll be ready for the FIFA world cup. :D

Gary Bettman pretty much said yesterday that the NHL is coming back to Winnipeg - just a question of when not if anymore.

I wouldn't call the Hawks a darkhorse pick.

Maybe Chicago will win the Stanley cup.

Would like to see the blackhawks win the cup. As a ranger fan I hate the flyers. the hawks have a good team and the fans have waited long enough.

Not now, but 6 or more weeks ago definitely. Everyone was focused on Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Washington, DETROIT, etc. Out of all the hockey threads I posted in I recall that I'm the only one who was saying they were backing the Blackhawks. So I could only assume that not many here were holding any thoughts of them winning... except me.

They finished well in the regular season standings but I wasn't hearing much banter about them winning it, not until a few weeks ago anyway. The real men of the prediction world made their predictions a month before that though. Like me. Ladies, look at your man, now back to me. Now back at your man, now BACK to ME. Sadly, he isn't me.

The only thing I'm not nuts about is that song they play every time Chicago scores. It was mildly annoying before, now it's becoming insideous. It get's in your head, and plays over and over even in your sleep.

Good thing this season is over in a few weeks or it would turn me into a sereal killer. :D

Stupid TSN the other day would not make a definite favourite pick.

I've been saying Chicago since December. Flyers are a bunch of goons IMHO.

I'm torn here. While I'm rooting for the hawks to win it, part of me wants this to go to game 7.

Because there's no hockey in the universe greater than game 7 of the cup final.

I hope the city of Chicago really gets behind the Hawks, they had fallen so far off the map for so long that they were barely covered media wise in Chicago. and i hope they win the Cup on home ice, that will be an amazing spectacle, sure beats Anaheim, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tampa etc

only downside to the Hawks is they make me feel a thousand years old - Patrick Kane looks 15 years old and Toews not much older.

It's definitely starting to go that way.


Game 3 tonight, Let's see how the hawks do in Philly.
